The best restaurants serving Default food in Plymouth South West

The best thing about the food was that the portion size was good. Bland over-sweet sauce - probably from a jar. Dry meat. The merest gesture of salad - why bother? Cold plate so the food went cold quickly. The service was poor, unhelpful and perfunctory. Their loud conversations on phones & with a visitor gained far more of their attention. Reading all the gushing praise from all of the other reviewers, maybe I went on a bad day, maybe I missed something? Maybe the chef was having a day off?

I was really happy to find this place. Real food, nicely prepared and fantastic atmosphere. The people are really nice too.

Wonderful food, had the loaded hashbrowns and it was fabulous

we hired ales and tails for our marquee wedding and they were brilliant. very attentive to detail, we had complete control over the menu and the drinks were all very tasty. we had excellent communication from the first booking to the hours leading up to the wedding, where they provided welcome beers and cocktails and drinks for the rest of the evening. we would whole heartedly recommended ales tails for your wedding or event.

I would never of gone in there. It was pouring with rain, rather than get soaked I popped in. What I received was a very warm welcome and a very good breakfast type meal. It was excellent value for money, cooked to perfection. As and when I visit the area, I will pop in again to enjoy good food at a good price.

The Eden Project - it’s fantastic!!The tropical rainforest pod gives everyone a chance to experience plants from equatorial areas. Avoid the cool room as it isn’t the most hygienic of places. The plants are spectacular however.The temperate Mediterranean pod shows an array of spectacular plants and is a must!A wonderful day out...

I needed a fabulous vegan carrot cake for my daughter’s 21st birthday and Ladybird didn’t disappoint. I contacted Ladybird who, with only a weeks notice, produced the most gorgeous vegan carrot cake. Communication was great in regards to added ingredients, icing, decoration etc. For a small fee the cake was also delivered. Amazing service and cake demolished 😋

What a gem a lovely cafe top fresh produce and very fair prices for quality food a full breakfast for £6.25 X normal places in tavistock charge £10 look forward to seeing you soon Pete and I like the daily deals another gem Liver and bacon 🥓 mmm

This was our first visit on a beautiful spring Sunday lunchtime. I had seen the menu on Facebook and I wanted to try the lasagne. Staff were friendly and service prompt. The food portions were not massive but fine and more importantly the food was well cooked and of quality. Will return.

Ordered Sunday roast for the first time today and cannot recommend them highly enough. Fresh vegetables, beautifully cooked meat and really good portion size. Thankyou so much, we will be back.

Neil & Tracey we’re very welcoming and friendly hosts. Impeccable views, surrounded by wildlife and nature. Bedrooms are spacious and super clean, living room is cozy and the kitchen is well set out and bright. Great option of food from the food van. The main event was the swimming pool and hot tub, the children spent hours enjoying themselves and playing into the evening then adults relaxed in the warm. We were so lucky with the weather. Perfect for families or friendly get togethers, we will be back

Personally I love their cheese and onion pasties, probably one of the best I have ever tasted, I also would like to say that their cakes are delicious- would really recommend a visit.

Disappointing meal to celebrate Christmas. Brussels sprouts were inedible. A guest opposite me tried to cut one and it landed in my lap. Wrote an email to say how disappointed we were and never received a response. We won’t be eating here again.
