Although the hotel is apparently 5*, it failed to meet basic standards of cleanliness. The room we stayed in was well overdue for some refurbishment, and the last time anyone bothered to dust the room was probably last year, as I could write my name in the thick layer of dust on the table and nightstands. I also thought that the choice of naming the location of our room the “garden view” is just a very smart marketing tactic, as all it really is is pretty much a euphemism for “ground floor.” No view of the garden—instead, you can watch people walking past all evening. You can see them as well as they see you. Of course, closing the curtains is an option, but if you also want to keep the windows open, the thick curtains wouldn't allow any fresh air in. We stayed on a very hot day. Breakfast was yet another disappointment. The English breakfast was probably the stingiest portion I've ever been served. Everything bland and unseasoned. The spa itself wasn't great either. The facilities were pretty run down, and again, there was a noticeable lack of cleanliness—tiles missing in a variety of rooms and the outdoor pool. The tiles that weren't missing were last cleaned who knows when, and the grid for water circulation around the indoor swimming pool was green and mouldy. Our experience was pretty underwhelming for what we were expecting from a hotel of this quality, and it's appalling that a hotel of this standard is in such a state. What’s also appalling is that people previously brought up these issues here in the comments, and yet, over time, none of them were addressed or fixed. Wonder if you actually care about your customers at all.

This is now a vegan food outlet - absolutely fab and very reasonably priced

Although everything was very expensive last term, at least every day got some different countries' cuisine. This term newly supplied roast chicken thigh or burgers. Yeah, it looks nice. But actually just bought some frozen ones and cooked in the oven without any effort. What's more, the hot food started to repeat, eg. Sri Lanka curry could repeat 3 days. The portion is extremely small and some of the waiters are always grumpy and seem we owe their money. I give it one star because the lowest is one. I would change it if it could be improved next term. Update. After complaint, this semester has changed back old style. So I changed the score.

The food was nice but portions are so small for what you pay. Barely half a fillet of sea bass for mains and 3 scallops for starters. Service was below average, not busy but our staters came out before our wine, our waiter waved off the server when he saw them coming out so they sat on a bench while we waited for him to get the wine. Lamb was advertised as a rump, we were then told it would be ribs but it ended up arriving as some slow cook shredded dish. And with such poor service they then hit you up for a 12.5% service charge. £120 for just the food for 2 people 2 courses and we left hungry.

Desafortunadamente el té de la tarde en el Hotel Bath Spa fue muy decepcionante. Tomé a mi hija como parte de su regalo de cumpleaños, pero ambos sentimos que nuestra experiencia no fue buena. Nos recibieron amablemente, pero la camarera que nos atendió no habló realmente y no explicó la comida que se nos presentó. Pedí dos rodajas de limón para nuestro té Earl Grey y me regalaron un limón entero. Fue de £ 40 por persona y me gustaría instar a cualquiera que lea esto a ir a las salas de bombas en Bath, ya que su experiencia del té de la tarde es mucho mejor. Para un hotel de lujo esto era muy agobiante.
