Such a lovely polite person on the phone. My mistake, it’s a bike & boat company with a venue for hire, not a restaurant! Maybe next time!

A group of us went on the John Rennie for a friends 60th and it was just brilliant. The hosts were so friendly and the food was amazing. Would highly recommend.

So I chose the Jon Ronnie to celebrate my 60th Birthday with friends ! A group of 24 ladies . I cannot recommend highly enough we had the Barbecue buffet for our food and it was just lovely. The food was fresh varied and thoroughly enjoyed by all. Lionel , his wife and the driver were so lovely and made the trip just perfect. Francesca who I booked the trip with was so accommodating and I really could not have asked for anything better . Just perfect

Amazing!!!! We had a friends 60th yesterday and I can’t praise the staff enough. We had such a great time and the food was so good. We all had such a great time would highly recommend

El evento fue una celebración de cumpleaños de "personas mayores" con hijos y nietos, y todos lo disfrutaron, especialmente los nietos que observaban la operación del bote. La comida y el servicio de comida fueron excelentes y específicamente comentados por varios invitados, quienes me pidieron que escribiera un artículo. Uno se refirió a él como un evento de "una vez en la vida". El personal de tierra fue excelente y los arreglos específicos bien atendidos. Excelente tarde.

We celebrated my Husbands birthday on The John Rennie, what a fantastic experience! The whole experience was perfect from start to finish. Booking procedure was easy and the contacts were very helpful. On the actual evening the staff on board were amazing, friendly and nothing was too much trouble for them. The food was commented on by everyone as delicious. I cannot find any faults with our evening. We also hired one of the entertainers shown on the John Rennie website (Duo "Funked Up") who were again brilliant and friendly and they played and sang all the way back to the Wharf. I would definitely recommend this to anyone.

I attended a family wedding reception on the John Rennie a few weeks back and what a special day it was. We were taken on a scenic 4 hour boat ride through Bath, whilst sampling some exceptional food that was prepared all within the boat's small kitchen. We had plenty of wine on the tables that the bride & groom ordered, but they also had a fully stocked bar on the boat too. The food was first class and presented to a very high standard. This was a truly special day and I have to say one of the best wedding receptions I have been to, as it was different in a very good way!

We had our wedding reception on the boat, which was absolutely perfect and better than our expectations. The help and planning from day one was great. We opted for the 4 hour trip, champagne and canapes, followed by a 3 course sit down meal. The food was amazing and every single guest commented at how the food and service was fantastic and faultless. The owners worked so hard to make sure everything was just right and we are so happy they made sure our special day was perfect, unique and memorable.

This was an amazing afternoon birthday party on the John Rennie barge.The staff members were extremely pleasant and very helpful and the food was amazing.If you want something different for that special occasion, this is one to choose. Would definitely use again and recommend to friends and family. A really great experience.

We recently attended a friend’s birthday party on the John Rennie. I have to say I didn’t really know what to expect, but I was blown away by the quality of the food and the service. All 3 courses were beautifully presented and perfectly cooked - you would be impressed to get this in a restaurant but prepared and served on a moving boat? Amazing! They journey itself was relaxing and the scenery was beautiful. Very memorable and completely superb.

What a glorious experience this was. We were greeted by a very nice lady offering us Champaigne plus the most delicious selection of canapés.. Everything was very relaxed. We were looked after by charming couple who I believe were married ( sadly I've forgotten their names :(. ). He was the Chef & the Lady served the drinks and canapés. She also waited on table . The lunch served was superb! I had roast chicken that was so succulent, it was served with good selection of roasted vegetables & a dish of mixed green vegetables on the side. The veges were cooked to perfection. I have no idea how someone can cook a meal of such quality on a boat. It was better than most meals I've been served in Hotels & Restauant . And it was Beautifully presented. What a fantastic Chef ! ... The Deserts were equally as good. I had a huge portion of a delicious cheese cake that I believe was made by the Lady who served us. I can only say again " Well done " to this very nice and talented couple ... The boat itself was very nice, wide enough to allow a long table where people could sit comfortably. Not at all cramped. Although we were a smallish party of only 20. There was a nice outside seating area at the front, and we were lucky in that the weather was pleasant, so we could enjoy the peacefulness of the river as we slowly wended our way towards Bradford on Avon. I would LOVE to do this again, and recommend it to anyone wanting something a bit different . I just hope you are lucky enough to get the same Chef as us . :)

We went on board this floating restaurant not knowing what to expect. Firstly we were helped and welcomed on board with a very helpful member of staff (one of the owners I think who also doubled up as the chef). We set off along the Kennett and Avon canal in the direction of the Dundas aqueduct as a leisurely pace taking 2 hours to reach our destination whereupon we traversed the aqueduct and did an about turn. On the return trip a wonderful Ploughman's lunch was served by the other half of the husband and wife team with pleasantries whilst doing so. It rained quite heavily and we were all dry and warm. Could not fault the trip or the company and would recommend anyone to try it.

Absolutely fantastic day on the John Rennie I cannot praise the staff enough.It was a casual wedding reception with 50 close friends and family. Every one enjoyed the day and still talking about the unique experience.if your looking for a fun place to hold an event I cannot recommend the John Rennie enough. We are going to book again for our first wedding anniversary and our friends are already excited about it

My brother who will be 80 later this year decided that as he's been a volunteer for many years at the Claverton Pump that he would like to celebrate with a family trip along the Kennet and Avon Canal. There were 30 family members in total with some coming from Sapin and others from Ireland and it was a wonderful occasion. We were able to talk as we travelled along the canal to Dundas and back and the buffet lunch was excellent. A very good array of cold food with very generous portions. A special trip and the John Rennie came up trumps!

Nuestro personal de final de año hacer a bordo. La comida es excelente, las bebidas a un precio razonable y el trayecto precioso. Lleva tu propia música para que sea su propia. Tuvimos el buffet de barbacoa con ensaladas. Las ensaladas eran deliciosos la carne y el pescado encantador y más comida de la que podíamos comer. El personal es excelente y muy servicial.

Desde el momento en que llegamos al Towpath hasta el momento en que nos fuimos nos trataron bien. Una gran hospitalidad y atención al detalle. La comida era una maravilla (porciones generosas también) y servicio excelente, teniendo en cuenta que sólo había dos tripulación que absolutamente todo. Era la más maravillosa forma para celebrar el 50 cumpleaños de un amigo Nick.

We were looking for something different when we booked our Wedding day. The John Rennie proved to be a great venue for a smaller informal Reception. We had canapés and a hot buffet, the food was high quality and there was plenty of it. Our guests enjoyed the trip from Bath to Avoncliff. All of the staff we met were friendly and very helpful from the initial arrangements to the Wedding Day itself.

We hired the boat for a works do, great food, good service. Nice and clean!We had a hot and cold buffet, salads, pasta, chicken, salmon, quiche, plenty to eat!
