Lime Tree in Bath and North East Somerset

Needs Gordon Ramsey for a Kitchen Nightmare makeover. The only place to get food on campus in the evenings and the only place at weekends other than the Sports Cafe. Food is really awful to be honest. Pizza tastes of nothing. Actual atmosphere is sterile, like a school canteen. Service is lovely and the staff are nice. I just wish they actually put some love into the menu and food. ❤️

Rude staff and probably the worst food I ever had

Terrible experience for my first breakfast in Bath. Very rude servant - when I tried to grab some sausages, they just snatched my clip and saying I should wait their services - but how could I know if anywhere else are all self-service counters? Staff members' cold faces there looking like you own a lot of money for them... Good to hear I am not the only one received these bullies here

Rude staff. Brought my own lunch to campus one day last semester and realised I had forgotten my fork. Looked in all campus shops for forks, none. Went into limetree and asked the lady working at the coffee machine whether thay had any cutlery I could use, very nicely. Looked at me rudely and said the words 'to buy'. Charged me 10p for a wooden fork that didn't even work when I had also bought a latte from them with no manners and not even a thank you when I paid. Absolutely no customer skills, nor did any of the batistas working behind the coffee machine. Overpriced and one of the only options on campus, so they exploit this. Aubergine pizza is disgusting.

Considering it’s the only food outlet apart from the SU bar open on campus from about 4pm, the choice is a bit sad, and I feel quite bad for anyone in catered accommodation who has this as their only option. Pizzas are sadly very overpriced for what you get. The hot counter offers a couple of different options each night, which are… fine, but mostly a bit flavourless, and often very oversalted. I’m a big fan of the £1.50 affordable options that have been recently introduced, but I’d recommend against the pesto pasta as it’s always been swimming in oil. For lunch it’s pretty good, as well as a lot of other places on campus are - there’s pastries and the salad bar. I just sadly don’t think I can say I’ve ever gone here for dinner and been happy I did so. TL;DR: 2 stars from me - it’s not awful, but the Bath Uni campus needs to do so so much better on the state of its evening food options.

It's a university refectory. There is a limit to how nice it can be. However, the drink is fine, the food is perfectly acceptable, and there is plenty of seating. Don't expect luxury, but it's perfectly decent.

Considering the portion sizes are extremely small and the food is already unaffordable its very unlikely I'm ever going to order anything above £1.50 again! Paying almost £6 for 3 meatballs and a spoonful of pasta can't be justified. NOT ACCEPTABLE!!

Pizza counter service was bad, machine broke and no member of staff seemed bothered enough to help. Pizza was good value for price

Plenty of seats, good atmosphere. Overpriced pizza that tastes underwhelming. Only two options for hot meal (vegan and non vegan pasta) which is disgusting...

Friendly staff, cracking pizza and the California Pale Ale was a decent pint.

Genuinely feel like i'm gonna have a heart attack if i have another one of their pizzas. Due to food and drink credit the pizza is the only think you can get in the evenings. Because of that my mate has put on 10kg since getting here!!! pls stop with the pizzas before we all die.

To start off, extremely overpriced- especially on a university campus. Also quality is poor, pizzas are often sloppy and covered in oil. Range of choice is extremely poor, with pizza often being the only proper meal to have at around 6-7 o clock. Especially for those who have food credit as part of ‘catered halls’. Wouldn’t hurt to put on some healthier options or just offer something other than pizza

Much like Fresh, enjoys being the only food venue/restaurant on campus and hence very overpriced. I have tried most of the options and they’re quite average fast food. Staff is rude, too.

Nice student cafe/Bar. Food was good. More people than I expected for off Term.

English breakfast doesn't serve mushroom and black pudding; nice sausages and hash brown. Cold food was not decent- pancake was not fluffy, pastries weren't crispy, orange juice was made from squash.

Helpful staff clean. Tea and coffee making facilities a bit hit n miss but you can buy coffee from an excellent shop at the bar

Good breakfast, great amount of options. Could be more instructions on how to work the system, I saw a lot of very confused people (admittedly I was one to start off with!) I saw the sign for going to the kiosk and ordering, thinking it was for breakfast and not realising it meant just for the pizza! Other than that...it was a pleasant experience!

Very clean and friendly service

We went in the 'wrong side' and got cold eggs and overcooked bacon. After we went out the 'right side' and there was warm food, fruit and hash browns. One side was for guest accommodation and the other for sports event people. I felt sorry for the sports people as they had terrible food options. Annoying that there weren't more signs.

Full English breakfast (minus black pudding) every morning for £6... but the apple juice tastes like sucralose, the eggs taste like they never had the life potential to become chickens, and the ketchup seems to permanently have sour grapes. However, it is unlimited food and I am really into the passionfruit & apple cider!

Food tends to be overpriced for what you get but is enough to fill you up. Pizzas are nice, although only made in thin crust so more options would be nice. A fair range of different pastas and beef and chicken options at the main counter. New automatic ordering system is quick and easy to use, and the screen above showing the orders that are ready to pick up is helpful. In my opinion the food from the far side of Lime Tree is a lot nicer than the non-pizza options from the main section, and around the same price as these too. There are a lot more options for both mains and sides here. One extra good point to mention is that Lime Tree have a strong emphasis on recycling and being good to the environment and there are various price differences in certain products meaning you can save money if you are environmentally friendly which I think is a great addition. Overall a decent place for a quick meal.

I've only ate two dishes there and it blew my mind. Pizza Rustica is perfect: slim based, perfectly baked with beautifully balanced meat and vegetables. And the other one is Penne Carbonara: simply delicious. If you want to eat excellent meal between lectures this is a perfect place to go to.

Great budget choice for on campus food...

Good selection of food. In the evening, pizza is the main item, but there's also usually meat or veg lasagna (or similar) and another option. In the day, there's also pasties, a salad bar, and packaged sandwiches. There's a bar or bottled soft drinks to take away.

The quality of the food is not great for ther rice one pays

The lunch menu price has been going up at a ridiculous speed.... food is not great but acceptable.

It is what it is. A student bar and eaterie. Good feed for just over a fiver. Well priced bar. No complaints.

The food is fairly cheap and generally good quality. They also do a good cooked breakfast.
