Will not suggest this restaurant to others.

Looked at the menu on just eat and tried to order but the person who answered the phone couldn't understand English! So didn't manage to order what we wanted.

this place is my favourite for Chinese takeaway and I order regularly. the food is always delicious and they have a lot of different options! Im never going to a different Chinese food place :)

Avoid! Ordered food. It arrived 2 hours late. They didn’t answer the phone. Food was cold. Crispy duck cost £29. See photo. Never again

Authentic Northeastern Chinese food, but it appears a bit tricky to know what to order. Because the English translation of the menu looks inscrutable and sometimes misleading. 😅

Shocked at how bad this experience was. Ordered a takeaway which gave me food poisoning. Cold portions. Small portions. Avoid. Don’t have a photo of the lemon chicken but it didn’t even come with sauce.

Me and my friends ordered from here, because the reviews seemed good and got delivery. The food arrived and we were missing items. When I called I was told that they wouldn’t do anything and hung up. Not impressed. Will not be coming again.

Avoid! Really dissapointed with my order and will not return. The chicken wings were not fresh and had a bad taste, the spring rolls were hollow and covered in oil! The worst part was the ribs, 99% fat and no meat, absolutly disgusting, wouldn’t have given that to a dog!

Great "Authentic Chinese" restaurant. Serves proper fresh Chinese food, like you'd find in Soho, London. It's not "Speedy Wok Co" from scumthorpe, frying up MSG ridden chicken in diesel oil. I know some other Brits get confused when they taste real food for a change.

Rui remains the best place in Bath for Chinese. It no longer serves hotpot and it no longer is as vibrant as before COVID but here's to hoping they can pick up. I always love the food here. It's scrumptious. And that's putting it lightly. I had fish for the first time and it was so good.

Some of the dishes were quite expensive but the food was pretty good overall.

We just received a terrible takeaway from Rui. We would not recommend them. The spare ribs were tiny - around an inch long each. The crispy duck was not crispy and cut into tiny cubes. There wasn’t enough spring onion and cucumber. The sweet and sour prawn Hong Kong style was not right. The prawns had not been cooked in batter and the sauce was really watery. The egg fried rice was just scrambled egg stirred into boiled rice. Really really terrible.

I've had takeaway via deliveroo twice , good both times, hot , on time , fresh ingredients, bit pricey, nearly 5*...

The taste is not good, very salty, and the price is too expensive.

We ordered the food via deliveroo. The food never came and I have been in the process of trying tk get a refund for weeks now. I cannot get more information on what happened and why I have been charged. My advice would be to avoid and not repeat the same mistakes as myself.

Excellent food...easily the best chinese food I've eaten...a world away from the usual westernised Chinese food. Restaurant was very quiet but the food was brilliant - give it a try

We ordered a takeaway via Deliveroo. The quality was really poor. We had Shell on King Prawns where the shell just stuck to the prawn (normally a sign they are old), Chilli Chicken where it was just nuggets with a sauce on a bed of almost raw onions which took up 3/4 of the carton and the Kung Po chicken - well just look at the picture (awful).

Authentic recipes, friendly service and delicious food!

Lovely food here. Not too greasy and big portion sizes. We ordered 2 of the customised meals and everything was great. Service a little slow but honestly that’s what you get in traditional restaurants. Also the only other customers were Chinese which is always a good sign.

Very authentic (northern) Chinese food - the cumin lamb and dandan noodle was really nice! Di san xian (stir fried eggplant, potato and pepper) and lotus root veggie stir fry were lovely too!

The best Chinese food we've had in a while. We went early on a Monday night and it was empty and depressing and we almost gave up because it looked closed. But the ingredients were fresh and not too oily or processed like a lot of Chinese food. I suspect it caters to larger Chinese tour groups. Note that they have two menus: one for "British people" and one for Chinese. The Chinese one has more things and also pictures and English descriptions so be sure to ask for that.

Terrible. Ordered chrispy duck and boiled rice. Couldn't recognise duck as it appeared to have been ground in a mincer, the rice was in a solid lump and needed to be sliced with a knife

Saw that they have what is usually my favourite 肉絲炒麵 and got very excited so ordered it on uber eats for £10 total. Completely unauthentic shredded pork chow mein. Genuinely offended how this can even be called 肉絲炒麵. Couldn't eat more than 2 bites without crying because of how bad it was.

Very disappointed!! I've been ordered takeaway a lot since lockdown especially a fan of Chinese. But not for this occasion. 1st order but never again!! Tasteless, way to small portions with a few of tiny slices of weird texture of meat that cost almost £10 /portion. It was extremely bland no taste whatsoever . This poor meal has pushed me off Chinese totally.

Lovely food, my favorite Chinese. Little bit pricey

Terrible experience. The two star is for they served us food when we didn’t pre-book and the rib soup is quite good. However, the restaurant is ridiculously costly and the it’s tiny portions of food! We ordered 4 dishes to share between two and wasn’t enough full! (We didn’t order any overpriced fish of seafoods). Anyway it’s just not worth it. We could’ve had better dishes with half of the price in other places!!!

Food is ok but stuff are useless

Nothing positive frankly. Hugely overpriced with no service, no compliment anything and £75 later. Full of coach trip kids (Chinese), fine but think about your proper paying customers. Never go back and would not recommend. Beef dish was nice but for £15 it bloody should be! Dire!

£30 main course fish dish. You could hardly find the fish. I have lived in China and Asia for 30yrs. Worst meal I have ever had.

Chinese dishes are similar to Vietnamese people's taste, only the oil is too much and makes them boring.

The restaurant is far away from Bath city center and the price is a bit expensive. The dishes are authentic northern China/Sichuan style and the taste is acceptable. The proprietress is very nice, she only accepts cash payment, and there is a 12.5% ​​service fee.

Food is all right but overpriced. Had a mystery charge on my bill for lunch. Don’t expect a reasonably priced meal.

Seriously, they served hot drinks with polystyrene cup! Their attitude are terribly poor, slow service, requested for a spoon it takes half an hour to bring it to us.

Food just below average, the worst for this restaurant is their service and attitude. They serve hot tea in styroform cup which is so inappropriate and unhealthy. The worst restaurent experience in uk i ever had.

This is one of the restaurants I've visited in UK that they cook with spicy foods from the north style of China but the price is more expensive than other cities of the UK, so I do recommended as student may not be appreciated entre this restaurant if they look for cheap meals. You are making sure that the bill is checked before payment to be made.

I really wanted to like it - but over £50 for 2 - rubbery prawn crackers, virtually empty spring rolls, bland aromatic duck not even on the bone - I suspect frozen duck meat - and a dirty tablecloth - unfortunately an evening to forget

Good food, Good value. Eccentric atmosphere

The main dishes we ordered seemed very authentic and the sizzling tofu was melt in the mouth gorgeous. But the spring rolls and aromatic duck were nothing special and pretty pricey.

The landlady was very warm and polite, and the food was delicious. It was the best Chinese food I have eaten since arriving in the UK, so I went back there for dinner. The landlady allowed us to park our car in her private parking lot and walk to Bath City. We came back a little late for dinner, but they knew we were in a hurry and served us food first. Anyway thank you very much! I will go again when passing by in the future.

The price is 80 points and the taste is 70 points (Lao Chinese say 70 points, foreigners say 80 points).

For Chinese restaurants in the UK, the taste of the dishes and the quality of the service, the environment and the atmosphere are good. It is a good Chinese restaurant.

Having worked in Northern China it was great to be taken back by the flavours and style of food in this restraunt very authentic.

As a Taiwanese abroad, I am always seeking authentic, delicious Chinese food. Rui delivers. The mapo tofu, rice balls, fried rice, and cumin lamb (my fave) were all amazing. My American husband loved them as well. The restaurant is in a beautiful, evocative setting, and the staff was very friendly. Highest recommend.

We were looking for something to eat as it was quite late. We saw the sign from the street and saw it was Chinese and decided to give it a try as the reviews were positive. They were friendly despite the late hour and food was delivered quickly and freshly cooked. The portions were a very decent size and the food was excellent. The food seems to be very authentic and you should be careful when ordering. We ordered two dishes and the mandarin beef was fantastic. The other dish was also fresh but unfortunately not too my taste but it smelled good and looked amazing.

This is not a pub. Amazing Chinese restaurant serving Szechuan and Northwest Chinese dishes. 6 stars if Google permitted 🙂
