The best restaurants serving Default food in Lumley County Durham North East

Friend and I enjoyed a fantastic brunch not for the first tile either this place ir spotlessly clean, nice menu, friendly helpful staf at fair prices 5 star breaky all the way try it ??

Never had a bad meal from Kya, fresh tasty kebabs, large portions and pizzas are spot on, also great delevry service good arrives hot.

Incorrect food order arrived 1.5 hours after order. Phoned up and was told that we were wrong and not them. So we tried what arrived to avoid starving, food was awful. Wont be back used to really enjoy it under RIO brand not sure if its same people.

Dining room is incredibly dark - I know that's 'ambience' but when you're considering using your phone torch to see the menu, that's not great. Starter was nice (black truffle ravioli - wasn't ravioli, but did taste good) but the main meal was very disappointing. The risotto part was nice, but the cod was utterly tasteless and just a chuck of slightly cold fish. The 'sea greens' looked like enormous leaves pulled from the garden and were inedible. Lots of staff milling around not doing anything for most of the time we were there (it only got a bit busier around 8.30pm) and were incapable of splitting a bill correctly despite being told at least half a dozen times how we wanted it split. Wouldn't recommend and wouldn't return.

Had a surprise wedding dinner there for my daughter. Greece and the team were excellent in looking after us. Great pub with good food and lovely atmosphere

A good old-fashioned country pub

Staff are lovely upbeat and professional - good is unreal. Easily the best kebab in the north east. I am a massive fast food snob if there ever was one and this place never fails

Ordered BBQ chicken loaded fries and was served frozen chips not fries with frozen strips of chicken covered with cheese and a squirt of BBQ sauce. Husband had pie of the day, said the pie was nice but the gravy was lumpy and too thick won’t be going back there again

Lister's is now closed. Been closed for the last 5-6 months so I assume it's gone for good. Just as well, it went from good to okay, then became just terrible with quite frankly scruffy staff. Not a great loss to be fair.

Had food from here before and was lovely. But tonight, the shredded beef was so hard and tough, couldnt physically chew through some of it, and had maybe 4 tiny slices of onion and 1 tiny chopped bit of pepper. Looked like it was leftover from another day. Gutted as was beautiful last time.

I've mainly had the burgers from here and although some are better than others, none are bad. Great for Sunday afternoon hangover shacks
