Nice friendly pub. The first day of them reopening their restaurant, although the pub was not full and only appeared to have less then 30 people in, unfortunately we waited 30 mins for our meal, then had to ask for cutlery, as waitress went to get plates from outside after serving the meal. Meal was nicely cooked, although only small portion of chips. A bit pricey compared to same meal in my usual venue. But it was their first day so may be just teething problems.

Nipped into the floaters for a few drinks, the new owner jimmy is very welcoming drinks were spot on and a lovely pub, will definitely be returning and will be even better come the warmer months. 10/10

Terrifying. We went early Saturday evening and it was just nuts. Music belting out, people of all ages dancing and jumping all over, suspiciously odd "meetings" in the toilet. Terrifying...but fun in a weird way. Decent pint too.

Food was far too expensive for what you got! The side salad was laughable with a couple of lettuce chunks and tomatoes. The cutlery was dirty we had to clean them as best as we could with the napkins. Wouldn’t go back for food as it was NOT worth the money.

Popped in here on my way back from a meeting, food was great, my steak was cooked to perfection, would recommend this place to anyone

Great Local Having just moved to the area, this is now our new “local” Great range of beers and wines. Food is also very good. Superb beer garden or should I say beer gardens, lots of outdoor space to enjoy a cold beverage! Hosts are extremely welcoming and make you feel at ease in what I can only say is a cracking local. Looking forward to lots of more beers and craic with new friends

Booked. An event here over 2 months ago and made it very clear to the manager that its was the jubilee weekend several visits later to arrange food decorations etc I still made sure he understood it was jubilee weekend and he assured me he understood and was fine with us having the venue. Then on day of event he wouldn’t come to phone and his wife advised us that we could no longer have the space that was promised to us or store things in his kitchen as promised. She is a VERY rude woman with a terrible attitude we had to change the venue to the cavalier pub literally 3 hours before the event as. over 150 guests were attending and there was not enough space . Her actual words were he would NEVER have agreed to hire it if he had known it was a bank holiday and the weather is so nice we might be busy….what a joke all I can say is be wary if you are considering visiting here

Came back to an old workplace for a drink and the atmosphere has changed in an amazing way, lovely staff and good drinks

My friend booked a party here which had been planned for weeks with both the back room & outdoor space, it gets to the day of the party and the manager realises that it is nice weather outside so clearly thought more money will be made if she opens it to the public instead & so we were told on the same day that she can no longer use the outdoor space, only the indoors which holds 30 guests (there is 80+ guests attending) which has now lead to her having to find a different location hours before it is due to start. And rather than the manager being apologetic and understanding, she finds it acceptable to argue down the phone, being unnecessarily rude to a girl who just wanted to celebrate with family & friends the excellent news of a new baby. Therefore I do not recommend using this place for any events unless you are willing to risk being dropped in it last minute. And to the manager in future don’t make promises you can’t keep if you want to sustain a good reputation.

We visited this week and got food. The food itself was unbelievably good for the price and the service we received was outstanding. We will 100% be returning soon.

Been coming here for years and I have to say the new management are fantastic. Very family oriented, and have the place looking homely and welcoming. I have to say never seen the place so clean. The atmosphere is lovely and the parrot is a big hit with us. Overall very pleased.

This place has went major down hill. Pre booked table for the 50% off government scheme. Arrived, nobody told us how to order. Had to order from bar, which is strange as means walking about and less of a chance to social distance. Wanted soup...

We arranged to meet friends with young children early evening. Sat outside & kids enjoyed play area.We went to bar to order drinks & food & were told various things were not available & food would take 45 minutes !!! Inside the restaurant was empty & only about4 tables were occupied outside.After an hour food arrived for half of us. Advised other meal was on the way.After a while went to bar & asked how long does it take to cook a kids meal of 2 sausages & chips.... apologised and said it was being plated up.The kids meal of sausage and chips arrived with peas after 1 & half hours. The meal was sent back as had asked for fries and it came with chunky chips.When returned the fries were burnt and the peas were not nice at all.The system also for ordering food is a little puzzling with social distancing etc. You order food at bar and when it's ready they shout your table number out & you go & collect your plate from the bar..... surely less contact if bar staff served to table ?We wont be returning.

My better half took me here for a meal, I had the most lush fish and chips ever! The fish was cooked perfectly and the chips are perfect to. The food was so amazing we came back later for pudding wow the chocolate sunday is to die for. I will be coming back soon. I love how friendly the staff are and how clean the place is.

The food and service were exceptional my partner and I had lunch which was really nice the staff were really polite and well mannered aswell. We decided to come back in the afternoon and ended up just having a dessert which was also lush.

Popped in for a quick drink and noticed they did a carvery and it looked lovley me and my husband decided to try and so glad we did veg cook perfectly meat very good portions and we got a free dessert what more could you ask for definitely go again staff were very helpful and the chef pleasant jolly and even asked after if we enjoyed our meal!

Visited here for the first time, after hearing good things over the years. We came for my son's 16th birthday meal and really wish we hadn't!We ordered at the bar, as is normal nowadays. We sat back at our table and waited for the starters. They arrived promptly and were perfectly ok. Mains next, but oh, wait, what's this? Mine and my son's were delivered to the table, and we waited for my wife's and daughter's before starting ours. A couple of minutes later we were informed by the gentleman who had taken our orders (manager/chef/barman??) that he was sorry but there had been a problem with the printer and the kitchen had only cooked the two meals. The kitchen was currently cooking the other two, so my son and I proceeded to eat ours. We were unhappy at this but decided not to kick up a fuss. My son said his mixed grill was fine, though nothing special. I had ordered the vegetarian paella and this was just passable, although I should gave complained upon reflection, as although tasty, the rice was very overcooked, giving the whole dish a mushy unappetising complection. The chips that I had ordered as a side didn't arrive and my son had a mysterious portion of mushrooms as part of his mixed grill(he didn't complain and ate them - remember this). We had just about finished ours when my wife's and daughter's arrived. The manager(?) arrived at the table and apologised again, saying to go and find him later and he would give us a free drink. After a few minutes my daughter complained that she couldn't eat her chicken as it was too hard. My wife and I tried it and she was right. It was the oddest chicken breast I had ever tried. It was almost like eating a chunk of gristle, very hard and condensed meat, nothing like chicken breast, absolutely and totally inedible. My wife gave her what was left of her perfectly ok chicken. A few minutes later the waitress asked if everything wad ok and told her it wasn't. I told her about the chicken and mentioned my missing chips. She apologised and disappeared. A few minutes later my chips arrived ( about 10 mins after I finished my dinner), closely followed by the manager? again. We explained about the chicken and he just said that it should be ok as it was no different to the chicken I had had as a side or my wife and son had had with their mixed grills (all of which were fine). It definitely was different though, it had a disgusting rubbery texture. She had eaten enough so he took her plate away. We sat there on our own for a few minutes to see what the response would be, but we never saw him nor the waitress again do left. We were totally disappointed by the product and service and will never go back, feeling somewhat robbed of our £70.00!

Visited this pub for work Christmas meal! Shocking! Christmas dinners were child like portions, turkey was very dry, gravy very watery (Bisto most likely) and the stuffing was tough like leather but raw in middle. How that is possible is anyone’s guess. When desserts came one of the group wanted a particular dessert which she couldn’t have due to only have the correct amount for the group so no walk in could have this dessert. This group member was vegetarian and had asked well in advance if she could just choose dessert on the night. And one dessert came out wrong and they were insisting one of us had ordered so when they eventually got our pre order form out and saw none of us did there was no apology! And then the bill! There was a misunderstanding and ended up trying to charge the vegetarian member of our group who had fish and chips from the main menu instead of the festive menu the same price as the festive menu! The managers wouldn’t come to explain or help clear the bill up and sent a wonderful young lad instead! He was so helpful! Possibly the nicest staff member there. Found the woman manger in particular very rude. Also thought the staff enjoying their own pints and vodkas while working was extremely unprofessional! This was 7pm and the staff were drinking! Won’t be going back!

Came here for some later dinner with my mam, I got chicken burger and chips my mam got ‘cheesy’ mash and sausages & peas, all I can say it was frozen the full lot of it, I mean I’m no food critic but that was a disaster from start to end, they had no menus on arrival didn’t even realise we had walked in I asked for a 2x small cokes I got 2 half full glasses I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone, I come here regularly because it’s my local but the only thing I’ll be coming here for in the foreseeable future is a pint, thanks over and out ✌

Lived in Woodstone for 15 years and this place has had more managers than Sunderland and Newcastle put together and like the football clubs, they’ve all failed. As I write this I think we are on our 3 management team this year. The beer is expensive for a village pub and nothing startling and the food is boil in the bag and bland and if you don’t want a carvery on a Sunday you’re knackered. Just drive by and go to the Dun Cow or little bit further go to the 3 Horse Shoes

I ordered veg chilli burger it read as though some kind of veg chilli should have been on it.... not just sweet chilli sauce, chips were so dry, I did want sweet potato chips but but was informed they didn't have space to store them... partner got Ranch burger... came with no cheese, 1 child left his chips and other child left pretty much all off his sausage and mash, mash looked grey and dry and sausages were just the cheap kind..... really need to sort out what is served up... positive staff were friendly and pub itself seemed lovely and clean

Got two portions of chips as the kids were a little hungry. Honestly £2:45 absolutely disgrace of a portion I never complain about anything ever. Manager come out and I am a manager joke of a resolution said they weigh the chips two portions came out way different about 12 in one and 20 in the other. All I wanted was a decent portion of chips for the kids!! Sort it out!!!

We have known the Floaters Mill for years, as we live in the vicinity and have taken our grandchildren over a number of years. This has always been a yo-yo type of place, - sometimes good and sometimes poor depending on who s managing it at the time !!! As they do seem to have quite a high turn over of management.

Not one to leave poor reviews but it was so bad today I feel I have to. Walked along here and decided to sit outside with some food and drinks. Ordered 2 fish and chips which for nearly 10 pound each. I was starving and for the price I was expecting home made chips and a whale of a fish. What I got was last night's fish fried up again I think. It was absolutely disgusting, dry, grey, greasy, too much batter and chewy. I was starving and the chips weren't much better. To add to it there were dogs all over outside and I'm petrified. Went to the loo and came back to one huge one practically on my seat. I couldn't even finish my wine. Our afternoon out what short lived. Won't ever go back.

Firstly it felt awkward ordering drinks..the locals crowd 2 deep round the small bar, No one was unfriendly but you had to ask them to get access to bar. Ordered food and I thought I'd been served a child's portion, the fish was tiny and it was £9.15. We left feeling hungry. It's not a bad atmosphere. There are no menus you have to go to the menu board to choose. Vegetarians would really struggle. Not good value for money. Would definitely return to have a few drinks but food wasn't up to much

We visited with three children tonight for tea. Arriving at 5pm, we ordered straight away. We were not advised of any delay. 40 minutes later there was no sign of food. We enquired at the bar & told it would be another 15 minutes. It was made clear that if we needed to wait longer than 15 minutes,we would get a refund, so we could take the children to the local chip shop to eat. 20 minutes later there was still no sign of food. We qued at the bar for a further 3 minutes to ask for our refund. By this time they had stopped all new food orders going into the kitchen. The bar staff went into the back to get an older lady, who I presume was the new manageress.While my partner was talking to her about what had happened, she walked away. I approched her and told we should have been made aware of a delay when we ordered & I politely asked for a refund, so we could take the children somewhere else to eat. She said all she can do is appologise, but refused to give us a refund on the basis that the kitchen notified the bar staff about the delay. I explained that we were not made aware of any delay when we order. We would not have placed the order for hungry children, if we had been told there was over an hour wait! She told us the food was ready and waiting for someone to get it. I asked if she would get it for us. She mumbled something, then i asked her again if she would go and get the dinners. She told us she couldn't because she was working in the kitchen?!? I asked her again for a refund.

I visited Sunday and there wasn't a veggie option let alone vegan! I paid the same price as a meat lunch. So effectively £5.95 for a very small plate of veg. A black coffee ended up being white. Food wasn't up to much but wish them well

Visited yesterday for a wake all the staff were fantastic drinks were very reasonable a bottle of wine we were advised was cheaper than by the glass so we opted for that and a pint of fosters.staff dealt with one problem where drink appeared to get the better of a couple of young men but they nipped it in the bud within seconds special thanks to the young lady who’s name I didn’t get but she’s a teacher assistant and Katrina who described herself as a babysitter for the pub lovely people. Well out of the way for me and my wife but would recommend this place in a heartbeat to anyone. And see Katrina I did remember your name.

We recently tried the Floaters. On our first visit it was lunchtime. Staff friendly & welcoming.

Prawn Cocktail was terrible. Prawns on a bed of lettuce with a drizzle of sauce over the top. no cucumber, red onion or tomato. no excuse for the marie rose sauce as its cheap as chips to make (2 parts mayo, 1 part salad cream, 1 part tomato ketchup). prawns should be smothered in it. Turkey came on a cold plate with cold gravy (no extra gravy served) Frozen veg but to be fair served in a hot dish. Terrible dry roasted potatoes (suspect Aunty Bessies). Dessert was nice Xmas pudding and custard.

Very great place to eat! we booked a table then walked down and arrived early but the staff had a table for us in the conservatory. The food was lovely with lots of choice at a very good price. The staff are very friendly and welcoming. I noticed there is plenty parking available also. There are some very good deals and my son even got a free desert with his Sunday carvery! We will definitely be back!

They got the table booking wrong for my parents 60th wedding anniversary and only offered to put an extra chair at the end of the table in the walkway NOT acceptable she was more concerned about an event she had on so we went elsewhere and they lost out on hundreds of pounds that we spent that night would NEVER recommend to anyone

Visited with all of the family. Staff very friendly and very helpful. There's a pool table in its own room and a TV. We didn't eat but the kids did, food was great and the drinks are reasonably priced. Good pint of Stella Artois. Recommended especially for a family tea or a night out.

Decided to try here today after a long period of wouldnt go back . Its changed hands a few times since we were last there for food . Top of the menu noticed meat and potato pie £12 bit over the top for a local . Three adults meals were average the childs meal had very fatty chewy chicken which even I couldnt eat .Waitress /bar lady was really pleasent. Needs to improve allot to compete with the three horse shoes and the mill plus others close by and long way better . We wont hury back unless it improves .

Went for early evening meal, and as it was Monday it was burger night, which came with a free pint (beverage specified on menu, not any variety ). I opted for a chicjen wrap instead of the burger, which came with onion rings and chips, while my wife had ake stew with potatoes and veg. Both were decent and value for money. We the had sweets which were cheesecake for her and a pudding with pear and whiskey, toffee sauce, which were on offer at £2 each which was a bargain. With dinks (excluding free pint ) it was about €£30.00, which was okay. A word for the bar person as she was helpful, courteous and explained the dishes well

Have not been in here for over 10 years. What a waste. This place has recently changed hands and the change in staff is quite noticeable. Very helpful efficient staff. Good excellent. Great value for money. Keep it up. Well done.

We received a very warm welcome when we arrived for Sunday lunch. The carvery was full of freshly cooked vegetables and we had a choice of turkey, gammon or roast beef. The roast and mashed potatoes were beautifully cooked and served to perfection.

I visited the Floaters Mill yesterday evening, I live in Hampshire and booked a meal to celebrate my fathers birthday. We also had the dog, choosing the Floaters Mill accommodated our requirements.

We had a lovely evening in the pub. Nice friendly staff. Recently been refurbished.

Called here recently, judging from the car park and customers its doing quite well. Only had a cola but the inside was clean and the food looked good.

Stopped as the pub is listed in the Brit Stop guide for campervans. Had a lovely meal for six. Good selection of pub food, portions not over facing, friendly staff and reasonable prices. Used the bottom car park and pulled up next to another motorhome.

Stayed overnight in motorhome in car park and Linda the owner and Carol were really welcoming.This is a really good pub for both couples and family's.different days of the week different deals for instance wed a curry with a drink £6.95 and carvery on Sundays,we were very pleased with all aspects of this lovely pub,would recommend to all.

Sunday afternoon, around 2 o’clock we decided to head down to the floaters mill. We arrived and advised that lunch menu was an expected 30 minutes wait. This wasn’t a problem, the sun was blazing and we had a few drinks while we waited. Linda (the landlady) constantly kept us informed of waiting times, which was less than 30 minutes and apologised constantly about the wait (which wasn’t needed). We got three adult main Sunday lunches, food quality was 100% excellent friendly service staff and again Linda apologising which really wasn’t needed. The food was great, service was great and I would recommend the floaters mill to anyone wanting good food, good location and friendly staff. Linda has recommended to book before 2 o’clock next time. Excellent experience.

Visited for Birthday Sunday lunch. Staff were more than happy to bring out our bought cake and place/light candles and join in singing Happy birthday song. The Sunday lunch was lovely carvery, hot, good choice and tasty. Toilets very clean and on this lovely hot day, the picturesque outdoor facilities (children’s play area, large outdoor seating area, bbq area) were clean, well maintained, dog friendly and safe for the kids to enjoy. Overall, a great experience. We will definitely be back

I will never go here again not only because of the very poor standard of food but also the appalling attitude of the owner my family and were treated like an inconvenience. The food was cold soggy and tasteless my daughter who is a vegetarian did not get her meal until everyone else had finished and even then it was awful. Badly done Floaters.

I called in for lunch on saturday to find the large car park taken up with a funfair and the small car park half full of stalls so people were leaving as there were no parking spaces!!!! So I decided to call back in on Sunday. I asked for a tea, a small carvery and a veggie option. Cheese and pickle flan is NOT a sunday lunch so I opted for the meat free lunch with veggie gravy for which I was charged full price for. The cat got the beef, yep I asked for it as I had paid for it. The tea came without sugar as they didn't have any apparently!. The lady who took my money didn't bother ordering my veggie gravy, so by the time i received it my lunch was cold. Was not worth waiting for as you could stand a spoon up in it. Giving it a miss in future i think

The place looks much nicer after the refurb, and to be fair food is very cheap. But nothing special - chips were not home made and call me picky but being given oven chips at a pub is the worst! Nothing on the menu stood out as nice pub food was more like a menus you get at a cheapy chain resturante. The lady who served me wasn't great either I ordered food for me kids and we Sat outside as they were playing in the play area. She didn't offer to help me carry my 3 drinks out even though I had my 3 and 4 y/olds with me. She didn't check on us during the meal. And after when I asked what desserts their was for kids she just said 'you'll have to come in and look' yea no bother pet my kids are in the middle of their dinners and I have to watch them and our stuff, but don't you even think about bringing me a menu out or anything. That's fine! For the record I'm not one to complain as I work in hospitality myself but honestly she really did the bare minimum.

After being took over again wanted to try the food as its our local, food was really nice and the well needed referb place is now looking lovely look forward to the nicer weather for the park nd beer garden just hope the play park gets a little revamp

Me and my wife went for a meal last night we both chose of the £6 menu what is on a Wednesday I chose the steak cheese and ale pie and my wife had scampi both meals were very good and I would say the pie was excellent full of meat and so tasty anyone wishing to try this pub won't be dissaponted really friendly atmosphere too

Those who, like me, live locally to The Floaters will know that the place has changed hands management-wise several times over the last few years. Most of the time, for whatever reason, those managers have failed to make the place what it can be - a well located, successful family/local pub. I've only been a couple of times since the latest management team took over a couple of months back, but the signs are good. The Floaters now looks smart and clean, I'm hearing good things about the food and service and the place just has a more professional and welcoming air about it (although I wish the bar could be bigger because it's always a squeeze getting served, feeling you're getting in the way of the regulars). The drinks seem fairly reasonably priced, especially when compared to other pubs withing the area, so I really hope that this good standard continues and the poor reviews of the past, given when previous management was in place, can be put to one side. I'll certainly be back.

Absolutely delicious food, have came a few times with each being when under new management and would say this is the nicest the food has been so far! Both the main and desert where delicious and my brother and Grandad also thoroughly enjoyed there’s too. Will definitely be coming back and will be recommending to friends and family members ! If you have been previously been when under past management I would definitely say to come back and give it another go as really nice now and also has had referb and is very stylish now and homely.

We waited a very long time for our starters and since we were told to arrive early this was very dissapointing. The starters were not of a great standard, one you would expect paying such a price for on Christmas but none the less we ate it. The dinner was average and not particularly special as again you would expect so as a family, we were again, dissapointed. The cheese cake was the best course.

Where to begin?! We arrived at 12.45pm as we were told dinner was served at 1pm. We were sat and left, no introductions as to how the meal was going to plan, who our server was or anything. It felt very unorganised and the staff barely dpoke a word. We sat and waited until 1.30pm and asked the waitress why dinner hadn't been served yet, she replied "because all the tables arent here" I said "excuse me??" She replied, "We're waiting on 2 more families to arrive so we can serve all the courses together".

Attempted to go for lunch as it had been taken over AGAIN. So firstly the lemonade was flat and gas couldn't be changed ! Went to order to be told the 2 things we wanted fish & chips - no fish, ham & eggs - no ham! Very poor the place needs someone who actually wants to make a go of it needs a revamp and food to actually serve we left no ended up having no lunch at all and as it's our local we will only be visiting if we want a drink ! Not impressed at all

arrived feeling hungry and thirsty after Christmas shopping... place was empty this should have been a warning...! not very inviting and if I'm honest very shabby.... still we thought we would give it a go.... waitress/bar maid/ whatever she was handed the menus to us and stated there was no rice or steak today ... so we opted for the fish and chip, hunters chicken and my grand daughter wanted pizza, two teas, one coffee and hot chocolate only to be told there was no pizza no hot chocolate and no coffee...!! REALLY... things were not looking good... the meals took 25 minutes to arrive fair do's they were hot although portions were a little on the small size and they tasted okay.... didn't stay to have dessert as my grand daughter said let's go to McDonalds and have a McFlurry, which we did, safe to say we will not be visiting this restaurant again unless it improves in many ways.. very disappointed.

This place has the feel of a pub that has been neglected and needs a good manager to pull it back,there is a smell of stale food from the place,the bar is sticky and needed cleaning,I wish i had of followed my initial instinct and walked out.Glad i just had a drink and didn't eat here,the food that i saw being served to diners didn't look up to much either.I did enjoy my packet of crisps though.

We hadn't booked but arrived early so they fit us in. I ordered a cappuccino with my Carvery but when my husband brought it over it wasn't frothy at all. He told me that the staff had told me that there was an issue with the cappuccino. I decided to drink it, however it was barely warm. So I asked a staff member for a replacement. She was happy to do so, however I was passing her making it and noticed that she was using a jar of Nescafe. I would have expected that the cappuccino would cost more than the Nescafe coffee and would therefore have expected a partial refund. In fact as there was a known problem with the cappuccino, they should have explained this and charged for Nescafe instead. That said the food was nice and the staff polite.

We both had sirloin steak but it certainly wasn't worth the £10.95 price tag. It arrived with a few chips a spoonful of garden peas and a piece of grilled tomato.

We called in on the off chance and were really surprised the food is lovely staff very friendly will definitely make this a regular pleeeeze try the puds for £2 each they are amazing would pay 4 times as much anywhere else

Hoy pensamos en comer aquí después de tener una pinta aquí el lunes. pescado y patatas fritas con guisantes blandos y lasaña. Orden lateral de policías y col. absolutamente chocante, el pescado era más preparado, tomé las patatas fritas y guisantes cocidas estaban blandas y cálido y necesitaba un montón de sal. La lasaña estaba dominado por un enorme metal pan fue servido en, probado mejor del supermercado. Ensalada no tenía un vestidor. No puedo esperar para recoger el director en mi Taxi para ver si él es leer esta crítica. Absolutamente horrible.

Fue nuestra primera visita al pub y el personal nos pareció muy amable y la comida de los domingos era precioso. Encontramos un pub por accidente y como teníamos nuestro perro Shih Tzu nos preguntó si estaba bien. Se permiten perros en el pub y estaba sentado debajo de la mesa mientras cenamos. Nos pareció que el asador para ser realmente agradable y buena relación calidad-precio (alrededor de 8 libras) y se sirve una ventaja hasta las 5 de la tarde. Con un poco de música de los 80 en el fondo, fue una tarde encantadora domingo. Sin duda, volveremos.

After an abysmal visit some months ago we returned again after seeing it was under new management. Twice we tried... the first time the Sunday lunch was bland and anemic and were told the new management were trying to get a grip of things.The second time we visited there was a marked improvement although still not as good as it once was.In saying that they are trying, the staff are better, the wine is not the industrial waste we were once given and it does seem like the place is on the up. Having visited this pub for Sunday lunch probably more than any other local we do have a soft spot for the place so will return and hopefully we will be able to report a further improvement!We will be back

Had a wonderful meal in this lovely pub with some new hosts who have some great ideas. Family orientated with a large outside area and a great choice in menu. Slight downside was the noise in the bar from the rowdy element but hopefully this will be remedied soon. Good food well presented and friendly hosts this pub will go from strength to strength

Tried here last sunday had eaten here last year during the week so decided to give it a try. Got there at 4 but still had ran out of turkey beef and ham though beef was nice had to wait for roasties ok when they came mash good other veg was watery but not tasteless i agree it could do with updating staff friendly guy cutting meat overworked could do with a little help. Not the worst dinner id say average but a little expensive for what it was.

I have drank and ate in this establishment for a few years now and I can honestly say the food has never been so good, im a mum of two and very picky when it comes for paying for meals out. [especially when you can cook a good meal at home] The food was freshly prepared and chips hand cut you could tell the meat was fresh as apposed to frozen and that in itself is a winner. thumbs up to the chef. The new managers are very pleasant and friendly, the pub itself is a rustic style country pub with indoor and outdoor tables perfect in the nice weather. Money well spent, we will definitely be revisiting soon.

Visited here for lunch with my family but wish we had gone straight home, the staff were very friendly and helpful however the place looks dirty and unclean, we sat in the garden and which the whole floor was covered with cigarette ends and the tables were full of empty glasses. When we ordered I noticed that there was only one table in side with people waiting for food however that didn't stop our order taking 45min and when it finally came it was cold, we don't mind waiting for good food but this was not that.The food is well priced but that said I would not go back.

I enjoin the food here as it was all home cooking and was fresh, the carvery was lovely. The prices were good and the service was friendly, I will be recommending and coming back soon.

Absolutely disgusting, Sunday lunch over priced and horrible. Place could do with a clean looks grubby and tired. Shame this place used to always be full

Over priced for how terrible it was. The Sunday lunch was not nice at all! Roast potatoes were uncooked, the gravy was watery and tasteless, some of the veg was hard and the meat couldn't of been cut any thinner and didn't get much on our plates

Sorry but it just looks very unkept and not nice, the menus even looked old and tatty.Went to subway instead.
