Visiting the area, decided on a meal here. This looked nice from the outside and inside was a typical old English style pub. Called ahead to see if I needed to book a table. The lady kindly warned me that it was bingo night but it shouldn’t affect us. Went a little bit early to have a drink and was warmly welcomed by a gentleman behind the bar. We were seated out of the main bar area for our meal as the bingo was on. All staff very attentive, polite and professional during the evening. We all had different meals ranging from Haddock and Chips, Steak and Ale Pie, chips and Veg and Sausage and Mash. Large portions and all very tasty. Very busy as we left.

Visited first time after lock down (I believe it’s opened under new management) on a Saturday afternoon. Booked a table for food and glad we did as it was very busy. The service was slow but this was mentioned on our arrival as they were under staffed and didn’t predict how busy it would be. However, the atmosphere was fab (lively, sport on the TV and a range of music was been played) and at the time we hardly noticed the wait between drinks and food! We ordered three different meals (Yorkshire Pudding, Cheeseburger and chicken and cheese baguette) portions were huge (for £6.95 each) and delicious. Lager and cider were reasonably prices too. Hopefully the place gets a well needed refurb under new management as it is the only negative - but I appreciate the pub has just recently reopened and Rome wasn’t built in a day! We’ll definitely be back.

This is a lovely place to visit. The food is fantastic, there are lovely shops, a play area for children and a lovely walk to see some animals. The signs to get in need updating as you could nearly miss it. Earlier signs on the road are broken so it's hard to find. Mainsgill farm is only 5 minutes away and their signs do a countdown to show you the way. Thorpe Farm could do with upping their game advertising wise as they are missing out on business because people don't know they are there! It's such a lovely place, we would definitely recommend it!

We've visited this quirky fabulous Inn several times in the last few years and have thoroughly enjoyed it. However, yesterday afternoon having frequented this with my invalid husband we had the misfortune to encounter the local Rotarians, one of which was exceptionally rude to my husband and I, told us to move as they were locals who live here etc. and wanted the other 4 men to join them, basically just RUDE. Not the pubs fault but a shame that the owners had just left, given that the landlady is the deputy mayor. Not a good experience, as the Inn/pubs would not survive with just the Rotary Club.
