Food was okay, bit bland but still a nice sandwich however I had a diet coke which tasted a little bit funny put it down to potentially ice, look on the bottle after I've already drunk it and it was 5 months out of date! Currently downing pints of water to flush it out of me. Won't trust returning here again

I must firstly point out, I do not impulsively write a review, let alone a bad one as everyone is entitled to a bad day. We have given this place a couple of go's. Last nights was not good at all. Firstly we ordered a Chicken Shish wrap, no sauce. It arrived smothered in Garlic Sauce, We called up to say can we just have a credit note for next time and just got the phone hung up. My partner thankfully swapped meals with me and reluctantly ate some. He said he was glad it was him and not me as now he is very unwell!!

We used Subway in Halstead, Essex (it's located inside the Co-Op) for the first time this morning to get breakfast as we are having our kitchen replaced and fancied something other than cereal or toast. Their online breakfast menu looked really nice, but it is a far cry from the reality that is served by this particular Subway branch! The breakfast subs, containing either sausage or bacon, were served stone cold! Actual contents of the rolls even if they'd been hot would have been nothing like on the pictures. Instead of a bacon packed roll what we were served had to be checked that the bacon was actually in there! And the sausage was no better. Two small sausage meat patties that again left most the roll empty of filling and not proper sausages as advertised by the online menu. We had to microwave our rolls at home to make them even slightly edible. You hear such good things about the Subway brand, but that was not our experience today. Disappointed, disgusted and never again!

One would expect a takeaway or restaurant to be ready for lunchtime with a large selection of goods on sale ready for a ruch. Sadly for this branch of Greggs this has not been the case on several visits on a Saturday. Arriving at a little after 12 to be met with empty trays, long waiting times ir to be told 'I'll have a look' is not the sort of response you expect to be met with. You could understand a few items to be be awaiting replenishment, but empty cabinets! Totally unexceptable. This review is by no means typical of all branches of Greggs, but is certainly the of the Halstead branch on at least four Saturday visits
