The bakery department made me two amazing Tiramisu Roulades today for a bonfire bbq, they were amazing to look at and delicious to taste. Thank you for going above and beyond for a very happy customer

Poor experience. Booked for 5pm, planned to have carvery but the queue was ridiculous and would have taken at least 30 minutes to get food - they shouldn't let the queue get that long, it spoils a family meal out when you have to eat in stages and spend so long queuing. Ordered off the menu instead, went to order and was told they have no fish at all so two of us had to get alternatives which neither of us really wanted. The food we did order took far too long to arrive, probably about 40 minutes. Kids play area for under 5s had lots of older kids in it, our 2 year old couldn't play on stuff because of the older kids hogging it.

Nice restaurant and pleasant atmosphere. Staff were friendly and attentive, good service. Food was unfortunately disappointing and is now priced too high in my opinion. For starter I had Chicken, pork & pistachio terrine, pickled radish, pistachio mayonnaise and crispy leeks (£9) The Terrine was quite dry, with not enough of the pickled radish/acid elements to balance it out. The mayo was a nice addition and enhanced the overall pistachio flavour delivery of the dish, crispy leaks were a complimentary finishing touch. For main I had Fillet steak, blue cheese arancini, beetroot puree, asparagus (ran out of the baby gem lettuce) and a port reduction. (£37.50) Fillet steak was significantly overcooked, with so little of the port reduction that I had to order a separate peppercorn sauce (£4.50 for some unfathomable reason) after it was served. In hindsight it was my mistake not to send this back. The blue cheese arancini internally had great flavour & texture but had been burnt on the outside. The asparagus was undercooked likely due to them only realising they were out of baby gem lettuce after my order had been taken and they had started the dish as I chose from a selection of alternatives. The beetroot puree was watery and grainy, not executed well at all. All in all, good dishes in theory but executed poorly. Shame about this, must have been an off night as I've been half a dozen times before and always had a good experience. I'll return again eventually expecting their usual quality does too.
