Great gravy on the sunday lunch, could do with more beef slices, and a bit more tender perhaps.

I was very disappointed with wildcraft cafe today. What has happened to this cafe!!!? I'd been a couple of years ago with my family and we had a great brunch/breakfast which also satisfied the gluten eaters. Went there for Sunday brunch w family today and found there's no breakfast/brunch menu any more, only quiches n sausage rolls heated up in the microwave, or a toastie on offer. Staff told me there was no kitchen staff to be able to cook anymore beyond a toastie! The sausage roll was the only savoury I could eat. Surely they should be aware that many coeliac people cannot tolerate dairy! There are as plenty of cake and cookies but I was looking for brunch! The sausage roll was nice but very dry on it's own, no garnish, no sauces offered or in the table. I was expecting to have it with the 2 small salads I'd ordered, but they didn't arrive for 25 minutes after I'd eaten the sausage roll so I got a second sausage roll to go with the so called salads, and had to make a specific request for tomato sauce to go with it. When I commented on the long wait to the server who brought me the salad, she just shrugged and muttered an embarrassed apology. My son's toastie also took 25-30 minutes and was presented very plainly, no garnish or anything. £7 seemed rather a lot for it and it wasn't enough for a brunch. My salads were supposed to be a small dish of roast potatoes and a small dish of greek salad. What I actually got was one small dish with 3 half cold potatoes, a handful of chickpeas, some old cucumber, a few bits of tomato and olives. I ate it cos I was hungry but mourn the loss of what used to be a great community cafe. It was obvious that the cafe was understaffed. I had some sympathy for the two servers rushing around. It's ok for buying nice gf bread and cake but I'll not bother with the cafe again.
