Myrtle Tavern, Meanwood in Leeds

Tasty roast dinner, and delicious roast potatoes in particular. Halloween decorations, however, I feel were too much. Ladies bathroom teddy bear graveyard was particularly frightening, too much for young children and just unpleasant for those who don’t like or celebrate Halloween. A decoration free room in pub would have made our visit more pleasant.

Great gravy on the sunday lunch, could do with more beef slices, and a bit more tender perhaps.

The Myrtle Fireworks Night 2024 Well they've done it again!!! I still can't quite believe that my local pub can continue to improve, organise and put on such an amazing fireworks display. Scott and the team never disappoint. To have organised this so well and to have it feel so friendly is a real achievement, but to be honest... We wouldn't expect anything less from this amazing team! We're so proud of what you do in our little community. Thank you.

You'd think you were in the middle of the Yorkshire dales. Amazing selection of locally produced beers, great staff. Leeds's best keep secret. Shhhhh! Don't tell everybody.

Had Sunday lunch with friends and their dog in the lodge. Excellent service and lovely warm atmosphere. It was surprisingly comfortable. Would definitely recommend.

Monday afternoon pint, this was my first visit for 30 years. Inside was all decorated ready for Halloween which was really good. Great pub would definitely go back if I was in the area.

Not impressed how they charged one price for drinks then after a couple of drinks they we're changing a pound more for the same drinks didn't realise till I checked my visa the next day, I got vodka diet coke the girly was putting the coke in overfilled it so it over fload so the vodka over spilled when I asked could I have another vodka she said yes but I would have to pay for it not very impressed won't be going again.

Without a doubt, the best pub I’ve ever been too. Luckily I live locally, but the food and service is always outstanding. Even friends who come to visit Leeds always ask to go to the Myrtle. It’s never let me down. All the staff are amazing, but Danielle always make you feel welcome and can’t do enough for you.

We don't normally eat but the Sunday dinner was absolutely lovely. Service was excellent as always by Cameron and danielle x

Excellent Sunday roast with the best trimmings and fantastic customer service from Danielle who is very friendly and provides quick and efficient service.

Very welcoming staff who provide table service. A good selection of real ales, can recommend the Three Swords 👌. Also, a very large beer garden which has won best beer garden in the UK. Just make sure you have a card with you as it's a no cash pub.

Loved Sunday lunch here! We were sat in the covered outdoor area which was really cosy. Staff were friendly and attentive. The food arrived quickly, was plentiful and delicious!

We have eaten Sunday lunch here numerous times, and always bring friends when they visit. The food is consistently delicious, and there is plenty of it too. Landlord Scott and his team work hard to deliver excellent customer service, and create a really friendly, country pub atmosphere.

Good tasty food, big portions. A bit laddy on the weekend, but nevertheless a nice beer garden here, and we were well looked after in the dining room bit. Car park needs a bit of TLC!!

Nice country style pub, but lacks some local produce be nice to have a few local beers on tap for example.

A lovely 1st visit the Myrtle Tavern. We all opted for the Sunday lunch which was warm tasty with lovely Yorkshires, which were definitely not Aunt Besses! The pub itself is also lovely, with a great outside area and childrens playground

Came for a Sunday Roast and was very tasty and good portion. Lovely beer garden and a small play area. Staff were all very lovely.

No matter what time of day you visit the Myrtle you have the same experience. Greeted by friendly smiling faces from the staff, the Manager and the chef if you just happen upon him on his break. The food is often referred to as pub food, in my opinion it is restaurant worthy and always consistent. I have dined at lunchtime, early evening, midweek and on a weekend and had the same positive experience every time.

Enough can't be said about Scott & his staff. A great all round experience dining here. Lovely hot food, good selection of Beers & Wine, and well looked after by Daniell who runs front of house. Kirkstall Fish & Chips and Chicken Balti Pie 10 out of 10 for both. Subscribed to Myrtles 'Newsletter' for some great offers - Meal and a drink for £15 on Thursdays in August. Calling in again next week.

A cracking Sunday lunch - tasty, well cooked and plenty of it. Add to this really friendly and efficient staff, and a lovely country pub atmosphere and you have a pretty much perfect Sunday lunch.

Went there today for Sunday lunch. The pub is very nice and the food was excellent. As I am vegetarian I had the nut roast which was really good my husband had the roast beef, portions were very large and well worth the money. The staff were really nice and friendly. Will definitely go again.

Wow wow wow-where too start?? We came all the way from Belfast for this beauty of a pub and my gosh it DID NOT disappoint. Served by the nicest wee chap- , responds to “Charlie”. WHAT A DARLIN’. Me myself I went for bangers and mash-what a banger-pardon the pun. The winning and dining to the nines! And what adorable dogs! My friend Aoife remarks” this is the best night of my life” and you know, I’d have to fl*ppin agree!

First time but certainly not the last! The Myrtle Tavern is well worth the hype, thanks to the manager for squeezing our last minute 5 in on the terrace for a roast, the service from the lovely Heather was absolutely outstanding and the food was one of the best Sunday roasts we have enjoyed in a long time.

One of the best veggie roasts. Often nut roasts can be really dry and disappointing but this one was super flavoursome with loads of fruit and cooked really well. The Yorkshire puddings were massive which goes down well with me. Gravy was a bit thin but everything else was great and the food came unbelievably quickly.

Spent a lovely sunny Saturday in the pub garden overlooking the cricket. Food was good, drinks were cold, can’t complain! They might want some fielding nets at the cricket club though, there were a few near misses

Mums funeral after party 20th June 24 What a beautiful venue to hold such an occasion or any social gathering . we met Chris Jackson the head chef last week to discuss our requirements regarding food and any intolerances. A very nice man professional in every way his food was far better than our expectations so a huge thank you Chris . Chris is also available for outside catering ,trust.me you won’t be disappointed. We had our party in the fantastic oak building which was amazing. We had chosen a hot and cold buffet which was superb in every way and although we catered for too many people on a better safe than sorry basis everyone was encouraged to “take some home” . Some of the picnic elements like cupcakes were dropped at a local residential home for the residents to enjoy . Scott the owner popped in for a chat and a few laughs he was charming . The grounds are outstanding there is a huge marquee, manicured garden with a water feature , plenty of outdoor seating opposite the cricket pitch . This place has it all and the team were so lovely . We will definitely visit again on a more social occasion . Top score for the Myrtle Tavern for charm , hospitality, and catering . A gorgeous pub inside and out! We swung by for a post-work pint, but after seeing a roast dinner go to a table, we decided we would like one too. The manager was so accommodating and managed to squeeze us in, despite it being the end of service and a mega busy day. The portions are great, everything is cooked to perfection and the staff are mega! Thanks guys!

On Sunday, my Mum and I were invited back for a free 2 course Sunday lunch at the Myrtle Tavern. This was because a couple of months ago, we booked in and they couldn’t offer a gluten free option (my mum is celiac). The manager apologised and could only offer me meat and veg as they had run out of the gluten free sides. We left, but a couple of weeks later he emailed to say he had been embarrassed and sorry he couldn’t accommodate and had taken it to management. They now offer a lovely gluten free Sunday roast with Yorkshire puddings plus a gluten free and vegan cheesecake.

Great service, loved the food and fabulous beer garden and outdoor area.

Rock and Roll bingo at the myrtle is an Amazing night!!! Its a fantastic night, lots of fun and laughter. Silly games and singalongs guaranteed to have the whole pub up dancing and getting involved. Friendly and approachable staff, cant wait to visit again for the next Rock and Roll Bingo!!!!

Would've given 10 stars if I could. A night of hilarity, dancing, singing and straight up fabulousness. Can't wait for the next one, better start lining my stomach now!! Also need to mention "Scotts Beggy Offer' (Gin) 😉

Charming and offers a lovely atmosphere with indoor and outdoor seating area. It's perfect for families, shining especially bright in the sunlight. A fantastic spot for a relaxed meal.

Friend took me here, service was spot on. The lady that served us was really friendly and kept checking on us. Both dishes we had were really tasty and will definitely go again.

We went on Sunday for St Patricks Day celebrations. Food was superb, staff were outstanding, entertainment just brilliant. Everything was just perfect. Thank you Scott and ALL staff.

I have a disability which was taken into account when booking. Family outing to celebrate St Patrick's Day. We booked tables for fourteen family members all of whom ordered different meals and not one complaint, the food was fabulous. Used the Q app to order drinks which was great not having to cue at the bar. The bar staff didn't stop all night and were so polite. Music was performed by "Strangers" they never fail to deliver. Nice clean and homely pub and atmosphere was grand. A great night. Thank you Scott and ALL the team. Richard (Burke) & family.

Lovely pub, lovely atmosphere. Really enjoyed my Mothers day Sunday roast treat. I had the lamb which was lovely and tasty and the Biscoff chocolate brownie with ice cream for dessert. All delicious. The service from the staff was friendly and efficient, 10/10 as always.

We are very lucky to have this pub on our doorstep. Whether we pop in for a drink, tea after school with our children or book in for the Sunday dinners; there is always a warm welcome and it often feels like a home from home. The food is exceptional with a great offer from a pub in suburbs. We often are served by Danielle and she is particularly lovely with our children when we go in as a family. If you visit Meanwood and don’t pop in to the pub you’ll regret it - especially if it’s a Sunday are you missed their Yorkshire puds!

First visit in a very long time, staff were very friendly, small menu but well presented. The only thing for us that it was very quiet and on the cool side on a cold day, which is not the best time to judge. Food was nice, service was good, so all in all we were happy going back there.

The Myrtle has one of the nicest locations for a pub in Leeds. Sitting next to a cricket pitch on the edge of Meanwood Park the pub feels as if it is in the heart of the countryside rather than in a major city. Over the years the Myrtle has expanded it's outside areas to include a 'Bavarian' drinking hall, a large permanent marquee and an outside bar. The pub also has a playground and some Wendy houses for kids. However over the last few years this expansion seems to have had a cost in terms of the of the food available which is expensive and pretty mediocre to bad. The kids play equipment is also beginning to suffer from a lack of care and maintenance. For an evening drink outside the place is great but I'd recommend eating almost anywhere else in the area.

Wednesday evening, special offer on sharing plates and as usual the food, service and relaxing, friendly atmosphere were first rate.

We regularly frequent The Myrtle Tavern and enjoy the visits. On this occasion we were not disappointed, the Sunday Lunch served up was excellent , well presented and to a high standard. We both had the beef and a side of cauliflower cheese and a pudding of rhubarb crumble. Well served by Cameron and the rest of Scott’s team.

A perfect night out. Booked an Birthday offer they were doing. 3 Sharing plates, 1 side with a bottle of wine - £25. We chose Grilled Sardines on toast, Lamb Koftas, Chicken Strips in peanut sauce and Loaded fries. Drunk with a Southern Lights Sauvignon. All came quickly and piping hot. Looked after by Cameron & Sasha. Lovely vibe to the place, really good portion size to the Chicken and Chips. 1st revist this year, will be back again soon.

Came for an early dinner. Kirkstall 3 swords was excellent as were the meals. Beef cheeks in Guinness and a chicken and leek pie. Really tasty food great service and a lovely atmosphere

Perfect Valentines day meal. 4 people all happy with their choices. Chicken pie was fabulous and bin lid size!( only people of certain age will know what I mean!) Complimentary glass of prosecco beofre the meal was a nice surprise. Great service from Danielle and all the other staff we encountered. Bread and butter pudding was fabulous,but probablu unwise choice after pie for main meal,and I couldn’t finish it. Overall great meal in buzzing environment.

We arrived for Sunday lunch. The food is fantastic. I had beef & my husband had gammon. Excellent Yorkshire pudding and generous portions. We would definitely recommend. We will definitely go back. Good value for money.

I took family and friends (8 of us) for Sunday lunch. The food was excellent (veggie and non veggie) and we were really well looked after. Would definitely return and recommend.

Second visit to this pub. Great atmosphere and location on the edge of a park. Great service and food both times. Huge dessert portions too! Definitely worth a visit if you're in the area.
