Charming village pub. It is named after a trade union leader who lived in the village.

Very poor customer care. Rude staff. Advertising happy hour every night until 11 pm on cocktails. When we asked about this and what the offer was , the staff were unaware. We returned to the sign to double check and were brusquely told was Fridays only. When we explained the sign said differently we were told to check the website which we attempted to do. At no point did the member of staff attempt to ask management to confirm or check this information. Just rudely said, he said it's Fridays only- referring to another member of staff. We left to go to another pub which was friendly and welcoming. Despite the lovely view and settings, we will not return

What a disappointment. Used to be our local and a family favourite but oh dear, what’s gone on? Poor service, mundane food and no toilet paper. Very shabby experience.

Visited with my Aunty she wanted a toasted sandwich, I wanted pancakes from the breakfast menu, she was told she would have to wait for 10 mins as they were serving breakfast, I went to order and was told breakfast ordering had finished, I was a bit put out as about 5 mins before 4 men came in and had ordered breakfast, we both felt me and my Aunty that the staff seamed like they didn't want to be there, they seamed rushed off there feet and took ages to serve people there was hardly anyone in there, my Aunty and me both agreed we would nt like yo see the staff managing when the cafe was busy, there is hardly anything for adults to do at Hatton craft center it used to be a real treat to go up there and look around the shops but now it's dead when we visited there was only the garden centre and Christmas shop open, the highlight of the visit would have been going to the cafe but even that's disappointing and expensive
