The best restaurants serving British food in Manifold Staffordshire Moorlands West Midlands

After a very pleasant hill walking day in the Grindon area with a group of mates, The Black Lion Inn was the perfect ending. This pub is a rare species. It is simply , a welcoming traditional country pub with a soul! Fab ambience, stonework,hospitable staff, excellent food at a very reasonable price and looked after, local craft ales. Close to a perfect 10. Just my opinion.

As Southerners, it’s not hard to please us with a proper northern pie and gravy. The Greyhound Inn was hands down the best pie we’ve ever eaten. We had the minted lamb pie and it was tender, full of gravy thick enough to stand a teaspoon in and filled us to the brim. The staff were also very accommodating and lovely. Fabulous range of ales and beer too. Would 1000% come back.

Welcomed in by the friendly locals and top hosting from the land lord.. A most unique place .

Really tasty home cooked food, lovely atmosphere and all staff were incredibly attentive, friendly and helpful. Would recommend !!

Decent range of beers, good pub grub menu at reasonable prices. Pleasant staff and the food was hot, fresh and very decent portions. Gammon was lovely as was the steak and ale pie with plenty of gravy and the chips. Roaring fire and very pleasant atmosphere. Well worth a visit if living close by or visiting the area. Dog friendly and plenty of parking around the back.
