Really nice pub! Lovely people and great atmosphere

Stayed 5 or 6 times as the rooms are cosy, clean and recently renovated. Food is invariably excellent with good sized portions. Pub favourites plus extra choices that vary by season. Breakfasts are great - try the breakfast bap! But the real reasons we keep coming back are the friendly staff and atmosphere. The pub always seems busy early evening with a mix of regulars and diners. Open fires add to the appeal. But overall it’s the staff that make it a great place to visit - without exception friendly and helpful. Lots of places to visit nearby if you stay over. Part of the Chickpea group of pubs but we haven’t visited any of the others so far although they look very nice! Highly recommended.

Friendly staff, good service and decent food. However every meal came with chips, no other choice. Decor could be improved. Overall nice experience.

Love this pub it has a lovely feel to it. The staff are really friendly and the food is excellent. There is good choice on the menu if you have dietary requirements. I come regularly for the Sunday carvery which is always a winner for me and my family and bonus is they have the option to take it away.
