Gorgeous place! So lovely and the food was delicious and staff were friendly. Star has been dropped as the placement of the baby changing in the ladies loo is very problematic. It’s right underneath an automatic hand drier, so one quick swipe or wave of hands from baby and they get blasted with air making everyone jump! This happened twice. I tried turning her around but unfortunately facing the sink and having her feet that end was worse because that’s where all the action is. I would recommend a hand dryer you push or a note for people to maybe switch off a switch (if accessible) prior to changing nappies or just moving the dryer to the opposite side? Lovely scone though! Thank you

The rear car park is unsurfaced which makes it a puddled obstacle course when wet. We had booked a table in a dog free zone but we were given Hobson’s Choice, fortunately there were no dogs in the restaurant that day. However this inauspicious start to our meal was redeemed by the attentive service and good food.

Enjoyed a delicious meal at Penquen Fish Bar! The cod was enormous and perfectly cooked—so fresh and tasty. The chips were equally great, crispy on the outside and soft inside. Overall, a fantastic takeaway experience. Highly recommend this spot for anyone craving quality fish and chips!"

Myself and four other friends had a Cream tea and High Afternoon tea's and it was all superb. We were there celebrating an 80th birthday and we all had a wonderful time in homely relaxing surroundings. The ladies serving us were extremely welcoming, polite and couldn't do enough to make our visit special, it was so plentiful we couldn't eat all on offer. Highly recommend.

We recently visited the house and gardens, and found all the staff very friendly and helpful especially because at present I am unable to get around without a using a walker. The house and furnishing's were magnificent condition considering there age, and have certainly been cared incredibly by the National Trust house team. The gardens are grounds have also been well maintained by the hardworking Volunteers. This property is certainly worth a visit if you are in the area.

Been to this place a few times over the years, every time I visit it seems to be under new management. I don’t write many reviews but just wanted to mention what a friendly and well managed pub it seems to be. Very welcoming, comfortable, the fire was lit and the beer well kept. I go to a lot of pubs and enjoy trying out ones I’m less familiar with. This definitely gets my recommendation.
