What a wonderful find! We had the BEST evening, with the nicest hosts, a perfect atmosphere (buzzy, relaxed and fun) and utterly sublime food. The venison pithivier is one of the best things I have ever eaten! Loved it. Definitely a MUST on the list to do in the area.

I was with my wife, daughter and 1year old grandson. We had an excellent meal. Very good food and excellent service. Reasonably priced. Downed with well kept Hook Norton beer. Added attraction, it was dog friendly for 2 dogs. We most certainly will go again when in Chipping Norton. Roy

Family get together as it’s half way between where we live. The food was poor. The starter of bread and olives was interesting… the bread was soft but dipping pot was pure olive oil which was disgusting… if it had been served with butter and /or balsamic would of been more palatable. The haddock and chips arrived with cold mushy peas an awful tasting curry sauce. The burger was dry and lacking flavour, a fast food restaurant would be a better option. The service was so slow that after we finished (and waited 20 minutes) we jokingly signalled the CCTV to clear the table. We also waited 15 minutes for drinks… it wasn’t busy. The desert menu was disappointing, a table of 6 with different tastes could not find a desert that they liked. I have been here before (on a Sunday) my advice would be give it a miss! Slow service, bad food and totally over priced!

Myself, husband and small dog went for lunch and had the warmest welcome from both the staff and the roaring log fire. We had the burger and ham and mustard sandwich, both of which were delicious and the staff carefully checked for allergies. Our dog was also looked after with a bowl of fresh water and plenty of free treats!! Gabby behind the bar was so lovely and welcoming and made us so comfortable that we may have stayed longer than we intended!! Would thoroughly recommend for food and ambience
