The best restaurants serving British food in Surrey Heath South East

Whats the point they do not answer the phone nor acknowledge a booking their Face Book site is pathetic no wonder their lakeside venue died as well.

We visited the restaurant for a special occasion and informed them of my nut allergy when ordering the birthday dessert. Despite this, they brought out a dessert visibly covered in peanuts, and I had to remind them of my allergy and that the dessert was meant to include a special birthday message. This was incredibly disappointing and shocking. Mistakes can happen, but allergies must be taken seriously, as guests trust establishments to handle such matters with care. I would actually expect a refund, as it’s not acceptable in 2024 for incidents like that to happen. The dining experience overall felt more like a canteen than a high-end restaurant. Tables were left dirty and unattended long after guests left, which detracted further from the atmosphere. At this price point (around £150 for two), basic cleanliness and attention to detail should be a given. The fish tasted stale, and the steak was chewy and lacked flavor. While the hotel itself is lovely, the restaurant needs significant improvements in both food quality and service to align with the high-end experience they aim to offer. I hope this feedback is taken seriously to prevent similar disappointments for future guests.

We found this lovely Pub quite by chance whilst looking for a Lunch stop on a trip from South Wale to Folkestone It's closeness to the M3 was perfect.The choice of food was excellent and the meal terrific value. We had a Sausage and Mash and a Pizza Both meals were beautifully cooked and presented
