The best restaurants serving British food in Oulton Broad Waveney East of England

We visited the Commodore at Oulton Broad for my birthday and it was a brilliant find. The restaurant has fantastic views over the Broads through their panoramic windows, which made it even more special. The service was spot on — really friendly and personable. I had the Philly Cheese smashed patty burger which was absolutely delicious, and the garlic bread with cheese was packed with flavour too. The menu isn’t huge, but I’d much rather see a smaller menu done well — and they nailed it. Good value as well, plus a pint of cider costing just £4.65. All in all, a great experience in a beautiful setting. Highly recommend!

After getting mugged off twice previously, I thought I'd give it one more chance to redeem itself. Well, I wish I hadn't bothered. 2 microwaved saveloys both split, what they call large chips, but I would call medium at best. And the best bit was the large cod which was6"" long and the same width and a quarter of that was batter. £14.70 for that. What a rip off, oh and they only take cash! I guess they don't have to declare it all. I'll never waste my money there again.
