The best restaurants serving British food in Wickham Bishops and Woodham Maldon East of England

7 of us descended on this building for lunch and were warmly greeted by our lovely waitress, who made us feel very welcome. Tables were repositioned & cleaned , chairs moved, menus provided and adequate time allowed for us to settle and make our choices. 5 adults & 2 children all with various requests ranging from ham egg & chips, sandwiches, scrambled eggs on toast and jacket potatoes. We all thoroughly enjoyed our food, and the cups of tea's & coffee's. Prices were fair and we all said we would return.

Stopped here for Sunday Roast after a long dog walk in surrounding woods and footpaths. Lovely and warm inside with very friendly staff. We ordered 3 roast dinners and the burger. All meals were really generous size and piping hot food served on warm plates. Delicious game at and gravy. Couldn’t fault it and we will definitely be back. We visited with our dog who was made very welcome by the staff. Fantastic friendly pub with delicious, food.

Came here last night for a pre-Christmas meal after having been impressed when we visited back in the middle of summer. The menu was spot on, nothing too out of the ordinary - just regular pub food. The young ladies waiting the tables and serving the bar have it spot on and are very attentive. The food is superb and portion size is good. Would definitely recommend this place! Note to the Owners - update your Google pictures as the photos of the pub pre-refit don’t do your lovely venue justice! :)
