The best restaurants serving British food in Great Amwell East Hertfordshire East of England

Having eaten at the George a few times I thought it was time to right a review. The food we have had on every visit is exceptional, last night we had the scotch egg and grilled king prawns followed by the sirloin steak for 2, the chefs obviously are passionate about what they do and it shows in the food. The service is unassuming but very efficient the perfect combination. We will definitely be back again.

We booked the darts club, it was absolutely fantastic can totally recommend! Service was great and food amazing (the scotch eggs and curry mayo In particular). Will definitely book again.

We came here for Sunday lunch with the family. The restaurant was nice inside, service was a bit hit and miss, not really sure what was going on as all the staff just seemed to be chatting behind the bar. The food was ok, I had the ribs, but they was hard work and the meat didn’t fall off the bones. Not sure if I’d return here
