We booked in and given an electric buzzer to say when our table was ready, while we went shopping found everything we came for. Never heard communication re table, quite noisy but evidently buzzed. This is when things slowed down, ordered our hot drinks and afternoon tea. Coffees arrived the young waitress was very busy on her entering till, our hot drinks getting cold. Still we waited another 45 minutes for our food!!evidently the staff are either to busy taking other orders from the tables then entering on a computer till, a bit inefficient time wise, not a great service food had better value. We love a tea shop in Brampton smaller but quality and service very good.

Arrived at 11.10 as the website says it opens at 11 and serves food from 11.30. We wee meeting family here as a halfway point. Arrived, and carpark was empty. Approached the door to find it locked. Definitely the main entrance. Lights on and could hear staff inside. Tried the door again, then double-checked the website - should definitely be open. It's a Saturday. Walked around the building and tried another door, which was open. I entered cautiously as was unsure if u had accidentally entered a staff door and the place indeed wasn't yet open. I met a man at the bar and laid out my enquiry. He advised that they were indeed open. When I told him the front door was locked, he advised that he must have forgotten to unlock it. OK. Fine. He opened the front door, and the remaining 3 members of my party of 5 entered. The bar man then advised we could not eat until 12 as that's when the carvery opened. I informed him of the meal times as per the website. He advised that he would speak to the chef. We had initially come for a late breakfast. Turns out no- we had to wait until 12. Ordered some coffees whilst we waited. Not refillable as per usual greene kings. Ordered 3 mac and cheeses at 12 (12.01) a kids meal and a breakfast. More people arrived, and the place started to fill. 12.50 came along, and still no meals, yet I could see burgers, etc, being issued to those in well after us. I approached a member of staff to enquire as to the whereabouts of our food. We had been in since 11.15, and it was now nearly 1pm. She looked rather confused and told us it would be 5 minutes more. At 1.20 we received our food. Not a moment before we were about to leave. Come on, it was hardly a steak we ordered. The food was ok enough, but the visit was now severely tainted. Especially when whilst waiting, we were told the play areas had been destroyed recently and had yet to be fixed. The 2 things we came for, a breakfast and a soft play, and we got neither. Not an apology at any point.

We arrived at 1pm as a family of 6, the pub was not busy and our order was taken quickly, however, we then had a long wait for our food with 4 of us being served but 2 of us having to wait an extra 10 minutes for the food to arrive. Overall the food was good apart from the undercooked chips. The roast dinner was very nice. We then ordered dessert and had to wait another 30 minutes for them to arrive. The manager did keep coming and telling us our food was coming but the service was very slow.
