Joe’s Plaice Fish and Chips - A Must-Visit Spot in Saltfleet! As Southerners on tour, we had high hopes for this northern gem, and it didn’t disappoint. From the moment we walked in, the warm, friendly staff made us feel welcome. The fish was fresh and flaky, the batter perfectly crispy, and the chips were just as they should be—golden and delicious. Generous portions and fantastic value for money sealed the deal. We’d rate this experience a 10/10! We have been to Applebys 5 times this spring and summer. Every time the staff have been friendly and helpful. Only one of those times the queue was out the front door but it was a Sunday and a super hot day so it was expected. We’ve always found a table and enjoyed trying all the different flavours. The children have enjoyed going on the little park and playing on the field across the road. There are plenty of picnic tables there too. The biggest thumbs up for us though is that they offer gluten free cones, brownies and waffles so our celiac daughter can enjoy a treat too and not have the feel left out at all!

If you look on their FB page they announced very suddenly that they were closing in November 2023 so no point in going there! This needs to be updated on here!
