The best restaurants serving Asian food in East Cambridgeshire East of England

We went at just after 9.30 pm on a Friday night. We were welcomed by lovely staff and given menu’s and Thai crackers. We were asked a couple of times what we wanted to order before having time to look properly- the lady told us the chef needed to know as they closed soon- the hours on the food said until 10.30pm. We ordered and were served very quickly and received the starters and mains at the same time - not a big deal but we felt we were rushed. Initially the lighting was low and warming- around 10pm the main lights were put on- far too bright. We asked for them to be turned down- which they were for about 5 minutes, then they were turned up again. It was clear to us they wanted us to leave. If they are so keen to close at a certain time, maybe they shouldn’t let customers in for an hour or more before closing! We ate our meal and quickly drank a bottle of wine- we were in and out in just over an hour!!! Lovely food but I’m unsure we would return as it was far too hurried and we definitely felt in the way!

Sylhet used to be exceptional, but it seems as though they have rebranded and decided to go with a new aesthetic. It isn't working. My chicken curry was sweet, really sweet, served with a very hard-boiled egg on top. It made me feel nauseous: sickly sweet curry with chicken and egg! Other curries had a lot of food colouring -- far too much. They don't have a drinks licence, so we ordered water. The service was slow, though the server was very friendly and smiley. I won't be returning again unless they revert to the way they used to be.
