From the second we walked past I could tell this place was going to be good. Looking through the window it looked small but don't be fooled there is a middle terrace and an out door area complete with herb garden and flowers. We were just visiting Kings Lynn having never been to Norfolk before we were not sure about where to eat. Being vegan in a new place can be hard but our wandering route took us luckily past this place and we had no choice, we had to go in. Impressed with the artwork we were welcomed in with our dog and sat out the back in the small garden. The guy was cool and friendly and let us know where the local off licence was if we wanted beer (which I did on a releaxed Saturday afternoon). 2 doors down i found some beer and brough it back. Menu was impressive, there was loads to choose from and I could have tried all of it but I went for the Resist! Krispy Chickun Wrap and was not dissapointed. Generous serving and totally delicious. If I had known in advance I would have tried the primal burger challenge, What an idea. If we had been staying longer I would have gone back for more food. Good to meet other people who care and are doing the right thing. Very delicious, relaxed and fun. If I could give it ten stars I would. Thanks for a great lunch and helping us enjoy our time.

4 of us had a meal booked at Middletons, we arrived on time for our booking to find our table wasn’t even set, we were eventually seated with just knives and glasses at the table. When we requested forks we were informed that our waitress was “trying to find some in the kitchen”. After waiting quite a while, our order was taken, the service was continuously slow all night. The starters, particularly the scallops (one of the most expensive starters) were poor. Served with a plain looking raw onion on the side and only 2 or 3 very small scallops in some sauce. The mains were much better, the steak was cooked well and the sides were nice. Whilst we appreciate it was perhaps a busy night due to it being the festive period, we found our 10% service charge automatically added to the bill was a little cheeky given the slow service. It’s also stated it’s “optional” however our waitress seemed shocked/confused when we paid a lower amount than the bill total, not paying the full £23 tip. 10% tips are understandable for larger groups but not for a table of 4. Overall fairly disappointed with our visit, had we have been a walk in then we perhaps would’ve understood but given it was a reservation it seemed the staff weren’t able to keep up. We didn’t feel we got value for money at all. Middletons is a local for us so we’re disappointed it didn’t impress as much as we’d have hoped!
