Only came across this hidden cafe with a community spirited hostess on our way back to South Wales & were smitten by how friendly and accommodating they were. If anyone in your group has a hidden need, for example avoiding cafes with a cabinet full of coca cola cans, Croes y Ceiliog at Llanwrda has the solution, making you feel like a family member. Their tasty home made food too = return visit a definite!

Looks like the Neuadd Arms is closed for the forseeable future as although you can book a reservation on the website, when you call the pub the answerphone tells you that the pub is closed. Just saying. Quite normal for Wales to have total lack of communication as it would have been good to know before setting off and arriving at a locked door.

Dined here as recommended by the B&B we were staying in. Although you may just drive by it is well worth stopping for a meal. As a family with teenage boys we were all extremely pleased with our reasonably priced meals, great sized portions and the quality of each of our meals was fantastic. We had considered starters but glad we didn't as could only manage our mains. Definately recommend a visit.

Stopped when out for drive with my partner kids and friend, lovely atmosphere, the staff member we met at the bar (I'm assuming was the owner) was very nice, offered colouring books for the kids and water for our dog who was welcome inside. We stopped for drinks and had some snacks, we didn't have food.

We stayed overnight at the Dolaucothi Arms after going to the National Trust Roman Gold Mine. Estelle provided us with a lovely cold meat and cheese platter for our supper that was superb. We had an enormous cooked breakfast the following morning. I had a wonderful gluten-free meal. There were even two toasters, one just for toasting gluten/free bread. I have never stayed at a place so gluten free friendly. What made it so special was that after breakfast we were treated to an impromptu 1-2-1 tour around the birds of prey. We have never felt more welcome and wished we could have stayed there longer.
