The best restaurants in Blaenavon Torfaen South Wales

Myself and family attended last night for my 30th and I cannot thank the staff enough for all the attentiveness they gave to not only myself and family but to my two children. Myself & my husband shared the steak platter and it was beyond perfection. The cockles pickie bits were to dieeeee for🤌🏼 myself and my son could of eaten a bucket of them. As we said to the staff last night.. we've had food at the shard (London) and that food stuck with us.. but this meal last night out done the shard! My mother's pork was flawless, fathers steak cooked to perfection. Our sides, kids meals just all beyond. With two fussy kids.. they ate every crumb. My sons first words this morning (6 years old) "mam, that was the best meal last night I've EVER had". Massive thank you for the singing with my cake.. the girls that work their are so lovely & go above and beyond! I can't say thank you to you all enough. we will be back 💜

Outward appearance does not promote the delicious food e.g. fish in homemade batter at £7.50. Very friendly staff and locals. Also does B & B and although we were not staying if the food is indicative I am sure that standards would be high and value for money. Since Covid Tourists tend to stay in Abergavenny thereby missing a atmospheric slice of Welsh history and culture.

Situated beside the Blaenavon Heritage Centre and what a nice surprise, plenty of choice of food with lovely friendly lady's to help you make your decision.

We had been to the Varteg for family tree research and ended up in Blaenavon. This cafe was right by the carpark (free) and we were very pleased with our meals. I had the usual breakfast with sausages, egg, bacon and baked beans. There are no steps to get into the venue but the toilets are upstairs and thus not accessible for those who are disabled. But the toilet was very clean and well looked after. The staff were very friendly too.

went for a late night snack on my way home,never been there before,although i live local,i was starving,had chicken balls and sweet and sour sauce,the sauce was ok,but the so called chicken balls where awful,they were not balls they were like strips i couldnt find the chicken for the batter,the batter was so thick and greasy when you bit into them it was really bad,i landed up feeding them to my dogs,for the price they were bad,never go there again,i usually buy from out of town.
