The Marcliffe has changed hands recently and I'd hoped the high standards would remain. Sadly this is not the case. The food is still excellent but the service is sadly lacking. I suspect this is due to inexperienced staff and poor leadership. I had to ask to have a pre-prandial drink despite arriving 30 minutes before our allotted reservation time. We were given the wrong menus initially. We were brought the wrong bottles of wine (both of them!). The cutlery had fingerprints on them. I had to ask for our wine to be poured on more than one occasion. So disappointing and I hope things improve as the Marcliffe is/was one if our favourites.

We came here while staying in Banchory as we had seen good reviews. The food did not disappoint. The only negative I have is perhaps it was the time we went (7) But felt a little rushed. We had 3 courses and wine and honestly could have been out in an hour.

I have worked all over Scotland and eaten in many Indian restaurants and I have to say, this is probably the best Indian restaurant I've had up here. Beautifully presented with excellent service and best of all.... Very very tasty ! Love everything about this place and I will definitely be back next time I'm working up there 💯

Had a night in Aberdeen recently with work. Stopped in here for dinner. Doesn’t look much from the outside, but have to say, the food was excellent. Service was very good too, and prices very reasonable. We ordered Papaya salad, spring rolls, chicken cashew nut, and morning glory. With the serving staff and chefs from Thailand, the food tasted authentic and the quality was top notch. It certainly didn’t disappoint, and will definitely come back again.

We so enjoyed this restaurant. It was spacious and clean. Lovely booths to sit in giving privacy and a relaxing atmosphere. The service was excellent and the menu was amazing. We loved our meal so much the food was delicious and the bread was just... Wow. The best naan we have ever had!!! Thank you Indian Garden!

MOULDY PANINI BREAD!! RIP OFF!! Came here after passing through Banchory after a dog walk…. Bought a bacon and Brie panini, and tuna panini for 7.90 each, a bit of a rip off considering the bacon was not in the slightest bit crispy and felt undercooked. However this was still edible and tasted okay UNTIL! We discovered the mouldy panini bread. Went back with the mouldy panini after we discovered this and was given a 14 pound refund. Not the full refund which is partially why I feel the need to express make a review online. It was extremely expensive and overpriced panini which came with mould, the lady was apologetic and kind however the other male colleague didn’t seem so impressed about me returning the item who was in charge of processing the refund. Will not be returning.

The word inspiration equals impunity because the food has nothing Jamaican about it, the prices are astronomical and the portions are ridiculously small (4 slices of banana £4.50) which doesn't even make 1 full banana ridiculous🙄. The Jerk sauce is yellow (I've never seen one like that). The flavor isn't there which is an insult to Jamaican cuisine. Now I don't know if this is due to there being no Jamaicans in the kitchen or if it was adapted for the Scottish palate 🤷🏾 ♀️
