I don't normally write reviews but felt I had to after a visit to this little gem . Set in the pretty village of Maud the cafe sits right in the middle of the village where there is lots of parking and a small play area that my kids just loved !It was a lovely day and we had our dog with us so we sat outside . The staff were lovely even getting water for our dog, I can only eat gluten free and the selection of food on offer to accommodate me was great (something I don't always find in other cafes!) We were all impressed with the size of the plates of food and all so tasty. My husband particularly loved the homemade coleslaw ! Just had to say thank you for a great experience we will definitely be back .

Lots of items on menu not available and really slow service. This place used to be really good and always somewhere good to go but this time really not up to scratch a real shame.

Had lunch there today. I am a veggie myself so I had a coffee with a cheese and tomato panini with a side salad. It was a refreshing sight to not see burgers on the menu, to be honest. The food looked like it was cooked to order as well (bar the soup). Would I go again? Yep when I go past Maud.

Been in this Cafe just a handful of times when out cycling. Good honest food. Emaculate premises. Friendly staff. Well worth a detour if you are visiting Aberdeenshire.

Good food, staff friendly & hot coffee. Only thing I have to moan about, bloody cold in there, they’ve just got 3 or 4 electric convector heats in there, it’s not enough, if you want to warm yourself up, go into the toilets, there clean & lovely & warm.

Only had coffee, which I'm particular about and it was good and an egg roll. Friendly service, good value for money and very pleasant facilities in a small village. Immaculate and a delight to come across.

Popped in for a coffee on a very bleak Winter's morning. Not sure it would be open but we were warmly welcomed and a full menu was on offer including special lunch options. We opted for a scone with jam and clotted cream - delicious and very fresh. our bill came to just under £7, which was well worth it. the actual café was spotless and had toys to entertain little ones. Definitely worth popping in past.

The Old Mart Cafe is an excellent little cafe that provides really good quality food and really good service. The lentil soup was delicious and I asked for a panni that was not on the board and they were more than happy to make it for me.

Spotted the signs in the village on my way through. A little difficult to find if you don't know the area. Simple pleasant cafe, friendly staff, enjoyable cream tea!

We came upon this cafe while out at Maud visiting the excellent Longleys country store and needed a bite to eat, What a find, the food is first class and sandwiches made for you as you wait, so that you can have your preference, and you can get half portions too, The cafe although not very big is homely and very clean and the staff friendly, They do hot food too and also home bakes which are also very good. We enjoy the food enough to go out there even though we do not need the farm store but just want a nice lunch. Try it you will be impressed

Un buen lugar para parar para una comida ligera, fabulosas opciones en el menú (demasiados para mí para elegir!) y relación calidad-precio es muy buena. Sin duda se aparece en otra vez, buen ambiente y el personal era muy amable.

What a gem to find in a small community. A great little cafe with a varied menu of fine local produce. The portions are ample, the food delicious and the home bakes simply wonderful. We had soup and sandwiches at lunch time on a Saurday and the atmosphere was friendly and the service fast and with a smile. My son had a kids lunchbox and the kids menu had a fine choice. Cake, shortbread and tea was also enjoyed and I would highly recommend this for a super lunch or just a fly cup with friends, all at a great price.

Exactly what you would hope to find for lunch or a snack in a small community. Clean, good service and adequate menu. Bill very reasonable. When we arrived the room was busy feeding local children. We were a party of 10 but were soon seated and served quite quickly. Food (hot and cold) was good with generous portions and the soup excellent. Recommended

after a walk up the old railway track with our dogs it's a very friendly welcome from the lovely staff who even remember our order of scones and coffee from our last visit. As we sit enjoying our treat the lovely aromas coming from the kitchen make our mouths water. lunch will have to be sampled very soon.

I highly recommend their double shot Americanos, their crispy bacon rolls and the home-made scones. If they have Cullen Skink on at lunchtime get there early - it goes fast! Happy, helpful and smiling staff make it a place worth visiting. What would I add to make it even better? Some more easy chairs perhaps and reinstate the wifi would be perfect - just don't change the staff! My favourite coffee houseFrom an anonymous coffee drinker ;-)

Lovely little cafe, run by volunteers. We went in for a light bite. They have a gluten free selection, which is ideal as Mrs B is coeliac. Tea came in a real tea pot 😊 Food was really tasty and reasonably priced, service very friendly. I thoroughly recommend dropping in.

A wonderful lunch we did not plan the visit and they were able to accommodate us. A great choice was available to meet a variety of needs. We opted for the fritters (black pudding and haggis) as a starter to share. This was delightful. The main courses were equally good with mother in law having beef lasagne whilst the Hunters chicken beckoned me. Well worth a trip

We are now regulars at the Seafield Arms as it is so good. It was my birthday and where else would we go for a special meal. This time, we tried the surf and turf block. We were not disappointed as the seafood and steak were cooked to perfection. As well as the fresh local vegatable selection. The hotel manager had to get up at 4am to get the lobster. That is dedication to perfection. Our friend had a sirloin steak, cooked to her satisfaction. Our daughter had the mac and cheese and was more than happy. The girls finished the meal with sticky toffee pudding and creme brulee. Yum Yum. The service was professional and very friendly. We have a concern, what will we have to eat the next time as it is all so good.

This venue has sadly burnt down. However we stayed at the Braemar Lodge Cabins and they were absolutely 5 star
