Never had anything I didn't like. Cakes and tarts wonderful. Pies, sausage rolls and bridies, great and very filling. Addicted to the well fired rolls. All that and friendly service. They can be, deservedly, quite busy, but service is fast.

Review: Food: 5 stars The food was absolutely fantastic, deserving of every star. Full of flavor, beautifully presented, and clearly prepared with care. Service & FOH Team: -5 stars Unfortunately, the front-of-house team was a major disappointment. There were far too many staff members, most of whom spent more time chatting and making social media posts than attending to guests. The lack of attention to service was striking—maybe they should focus on matching the level of service with the quality of the food. While I’d happily return for the food alone, the poor service made it unlikely I’ll ever come back. Best of luck to the owner, who clearly needs a new manager to lead the front of house staff.

We had the carvery which was nice. I ordered a strawberry tart for dessert, however this fell below my expectations. The pastry was very thin & salty, filled with scooshy cream with at most 2 thinly sliced strawberries. The thing that bothered me more than this was the attitude of the male employee ( I presume Supervisor) when the waiter relayed my comments. His raised voice could be heard in the restaurant when he said " It's too salty??". How very unprofessional!

We have visited this establishment regularly, now called Carriages But on 2 recent visitss were very disappointed. We had dinner, nothing exciting but one of us had a pasta dish and requested parmisan, the waiter said he would get it, some 10minutes later no parmisan, we repeated the request another 5 minutes and still nothing, the waitress said sorry did not have any when we were paying the bill Surely if you sre serving pasta you should have parmisan. The next lunch we popped in with 2 grandchildren for something small to eat , but were informed could not do food as not booked, there were plenty of empty tables
