This restauant overlooks the first tee of the Dornoch golf course. There is clearly a golf atmosphere to the place. The service was good, although very slow the evening we ate there. The food was better than average.
Didn’t actually get there. Turns out the restaurant is closed at the moment but the scunners took my online booking. Not impressed, so even if they open again I shan’t be going there!
Visited with my mum on 5 January and it was disappointing. The scones were dry and dense and the butter was frozen solid. By the time we managed to soften the butter, our coffees were almost cold. We both left half a scone each as they were too dry to eat. We don't like to make a fuss but I decided to email the following day. It was my mum's first visit to Gleneagles so I felt I needed to provide feedback about how disappointing it was. I received a lovely reply from Kay who said someone from Garden Cafe would contact me. I heard nothing so emailed again on 12 January and to date (16 February), I have had no response. Not what I would expect from Gleneagles as the service is normally very good.
Was here years and years ago . My Aunty May lived at 548 Crow Road , which was downstairs from the cafe . Wee often got sent down for a Poky Hat. Great Cafe .
El personal realmente amable aquí y un ambiente agradable, pero la comida que teníamos estaba bien, parecía que gran parte de ella era recalentada en lugar de fresca.
After reading the reviews I was expecting a very tasty feast
How wrong I was
The starters weren’t fresh and obviously reheated
The “garlic” nan had no garlic on it and was inedible due to being like a bit of rubber
I paid £1 extra for the non existent garlic
I ordered plain chicken curries but got chucken tikka, which was so dry and hard it was inedible
Naga Mirchi was tasty
Aloo Gobi was only potatoes??
South Indian garlic chilli had no garlic in it and tasted sweet
The vegetable curry was just potato with a bit of broccoli and some cauliflower stalks which were hard and inedible
Poppadums were soft
Absolute waste of money so won’t be back
Good service, friendly and accommodating. Seemed small at first glance but more tables through the back. Cheesy scrambled egg roll very tasty, mug of tea all for under £5.
Un gran cafe. Espacioso y limpio.
Its a must food delicious and you can see them cook it also most take away don't have this staff are friendly and if not to busy will have a chat while you wait
We live in Fife and have never been to Strathaven before, but after visiting the Cafe Deli (Alexander Taylor) have left with a very positive impression of the town! Quick service, interesting menu, complimentary newspapers, plenty of customers. Enjoyed Armenian Lentil soup which was superb on a chilly winter's day, with some artisan bread from the associated bakery across the street. Sampled some nice tray bakes too.
With restaurants closed tonight I decided to try the new takeaway service at Peebles Golf Club. The food was as good as ever and the addition of cocktails fab. I ordered the Pornstar Martini which tasted good but the Gin Sour was something else. All delivered easily to the door. Great night in when you can’t go out. Thanks to staff at Harrys View and the Chief Cocktail maker Joe. I’ll be be next week, Hazel x
No problem with finding a table on a busy Saturday evening could of been a bigger table for 4 people, little cramped once the food arrived, sharing platter well presented and tasty, main course choices good ,friendly and helpful waitress.
