Cafe Deli in South Lanarkshire

We live in Fife and have never been to Strathaven before, but after visiting the Cafe Deli (Alexander Taylor) have left with a very positive impression of the town! Quick service, interesting menu, complimentary newspapers, plenty of customers. Enjoyed Armenian Lentil soup which was superb on a chilly winter's day, with some artisan bread from the associated bakery across the street. Sampled some nice tray bakes too.

Arrived at Strathaven looking for snack as having dinner later that evening Came across this cafe so went in , good friendly welcome, toasties or soup chosen . Teas and coffee arrived quickly Very helpful waitress All in good experience

Go here all the time, love it every time! Staff are always so friendly and happy to help :) The food from here is always delicious too.

We dropped in late in the afternoon , and the fruit slices were our choice, together with coffee. The cafe features baking by Taylors across the road, and is owned by the same family.The fruit slices were outstanding! Often they are dry in other places, but here the fruit had been soaked and was plump and fruity.Excellent service, and a place to drop into - newspapers also available to read.

We have been to this wee coffee shop before, and have thoroughly enjoyed our lunch both times. The staff are pleasant and friendly. I had the Bruschetta with Mediterranean vegetables and mozzarella cheese and served with a small salad. It was delicious. My husband had the charcuterie again with a small salad. He really enjoyed the different meats, and the fresh bread it was served with, topped it off nicely, and the prices are very competitive. I must mention too, the bakery across the road (both places have Alexander Taylor above the door) there Is a huge choice of home baking, and there is usually a delicious nibble on the counter to sample whilst being served. Staff are very pleasant too. We usually go home with a couple of cakes or biscuits for a cup of tea later.
