With restaurants closed tonight I decided to try the new takeaway service at Peebles Golf Club. The food was as good as ever and the addition of cocktails fab. I ordered the Pornstar Martini which tasted good but the Gin Sour was something else. All delivered easily to the door. Great night in when you can’t go out. Thanks to staff at Harrys View and the Chief Cocktail maker Joe. I’ll be be next week, Hazel x

Ate here with friends after a round of golf and the food was superb. The food was well presented and tasted superb. Nice and fresh. Best fish and chips I’ve had in a while.

I attended a Christmas lunch here. Whilst the food was excellent, there mistakes in plating up my main course. I chose the roast turkey with trimmings, I was given 1 roast potato, 1 piece of carrot, no Brussels sprouts and about 8 pieces of roast parsnip. Also, the plate was swimming in gravy, I don’t mind gravy but it was really swimming with it as was everyone else’s. I have eaten here before and found the it to be excellent but they let themselves down this time. I will still go back and eat here.

We had read that the golf course restaurant had opened to the public and decided to give it a try for dinner on our visit to Peebles. Very pleasant restaurant and there must be beautiful views over the course in daylight. We sampled the fish and chips and the steak pie and chips. Both were delicious - but the chips are in a league of their own. Best chips ever. Drinks and meal were very good value for money. We look forward to visiting again on our next trip to Peebles.

This cafe is now under new ownership and is called THE KNOWES. It is open from 9:30 until 4 (3 on a Sunday). It has been under new ownership since February this year and has had a lick of paint and a fresh menu - albeit broadly similar to the old one. Having visited the cafe several times on visits to Kelso over the last few years, it remains my favourite venue to get a hot drink and a simple meal. The premises are kept very clean and presentable.

Group of 3 couple and. Great Dane warmly welcomed for dinner on Friday night and then back for drinks on Saturday to watch the F1 qualifier which the manager kindly out on one set of screens for us. Great food, brilliant atmosphere with lively banter and a good out door under cover and heated area for drink and music as well as sports on TV. Manager and his staff were excellent, calm despite being busy, welcoming and helpful. The manager deserves recognition for a well run but easy going establishment that we would highly recommend. We will be back on our next trip.

Stopped in for some lunch today. Friendly service with a good and varied choice of menu. Offers half portions of meals if more suitable. Brilliant value. Hot and cold options available. Felt like the teapot was bottomless, think it was 3 cupfuls in total!

Great little cafe. Excellent bacon, sausage, and egg role for the price. Coffee was ok. Opens early.

Advertised as open 7 days a week, but on arrival, the sign on the door said closed Tuesday and Wednesday. So, I had to go somewhere else.
