We have just moved into the village and popped in for a drink quite late on the 23rd Jan. There were a few people outside in the smoking area who all said hello when we arrived, and it was the same when we went inside. Lovely friendly feel to the place and welcoming people. We are looking forward to popping in again.

Such a lovely place to go for a bite to eat. The staff are just wonderful, so polite and welcoming, they really make you feel at home. The menu had a good variety of meals and at a reasonable price. I decided on the steak and ale pie whilst my partner had the belly pork. When they came out we were very excited to get stuck in and it was delicious. Could not fault the food at all. It's in a location that's easy to get to, it's well presented and clean, there's plenty of parking available and you'd be silly not to give it a try! We'll be going back for more :)

Have been to this venue a few times but to a music night but did not realise they do a Sunday carvery. Met a friend and decided to try it. The car park was packed, we had luckily booked a table as both the bar and the main room looked full, you could eat in both places. We were shown to our seat and had to go and order and pay for our carvery and drinks at the bar. The standard carvery was £14.95 and small was £12-50 ,there was a veggie and child choice. We had one of each. You then had to queue for the carvery which took about 10 minutes. Wow what a choice , 5 different meats gammon, beef , turkey , pork even liver and onion and steak pie . You were given a large portion of meat, then helped yourself to the rest, and there was Everything you could think of on a carvery , every potato, every vegetable. When you got to the end you could take a jug of hot tasty gravy. The whole lunch was delicious and the small plate was perfect as my friend who got the standard could not eat it all. We were too full for a desert which were £6-95 each, but the people next to us did and they looked magnificent, the chocolate fudge cake was sprinkled with white chocolate flakes and a jug of cream. One of the best carvery’s i have ever had , we will be back .

Proper pub feel. One that is definitely be a family favourite. Classic pub food (the menu has been reduced) but the quality of the food is hearty and filling. Food served in evenings from 6pm. The lasagne, chilli and steak and ale pie were all great. Plenty of ales to try as well as loads on draught.

After visiting with a friend in the summer, we thought we had found a quiet relaxing tea room to take my parents for breakfast/lunch for regular weekly visits. Not being far from home the location was perfect. However on the third visit we found that this tearoom allows dogs inside the tearoom regardless of size or number! No separation from other customers. If you are happy sat next to noisy barking, slavering large hairy creatures sprawled out all over the floor, then this place is ideal for you! For anyone wanting to enjoy a quiet relaxing lunch think again! Not only are dogs sprawled all over the floors a tripping hazard, the staff are touching, stroking and paying more attention to the animals than they are taking customers orders! On each occasion the doors onto the terrace have also been opened to get rid of the smoky atmosphere from the sandwich toaster - not ideal on chilly days when the draft comes through, while eating your meal but then again it does help with the smell of dogs! Unfortunately not for us, we will go elsewhere, dog free or at least where dogs are separated and customers have priority!
