Have been to this venue a few times but to a music night but did not realise they do a Sunday carvery. Met a friend and decided to try it. The car park was packed, we had luckily booked a table as both the bar and the main room looked full, you could eat in both places. We were shown to our seat and had to go and order and pay for our carvery and drinks at the bar. The standard carvery was £14.95 and small was £12-50 ,there was a veggie and child choice. We had one of each. You then had to queue for the carvery which took about 10 minutes. Wow what a choice , 5 different meats gammon, beef , turkey , pork even liver and onion and steak pie . You were given a large portion of meat, then helped yourself to the rest, and there was Everything you could think of on a carvery , every potato, every vegetable. When you got to the end you could take a jug of hot tasty gravy. The whole lunch was delicious and the small plate was perfect as my friend who got the standard could not eat it all. We were too full for a desert which were £6-95 each, but the people next to us did and they looked magnificent, the chocolate fudge cake was sprinkled with white chocolate flakes and a jug of cream. One of the best carvery’s i have ever had , we will be back .

Drax was a good venue. It's a shame the landlord and security staff have become so greedy and aggressive, it's absolutely ruined all the fine work of the bar staff and made the place not worth visiting as you will be made to feel very unwelcome at a multi day event that drax is making a lot of money per head on. The advances from Gareth on some of the younger ladies in our party was particularly disturbing as he clearly showed he would abuse the little power he's got.

Dave and his team make you feel welcome with a wide range of dishes and drinks, all reasonably priced. The Club is clean, tidy and well decorated. Open from early till late, exact hours can very, so check if you plan to arrive late. They even have their own golf course! Highly recommended.

Don't bother coming here. I was on the way to an appointment but was looking forward to a 15-20 sit-down with some tea. Ordered at the till and stood aside to wait. And wait. And wait some more. People that ordered after me got their orders, I got nothing. Eventually I spoke to the barista who had no idea about my order (not passed on by the man at the till I asked? She ignored me completely and just made me the tea). Since I was running out of time I just made it a cup to take away... Only to find out down the road that the tea bag had burst. Waste of money. Definitely stick with the smaller coffee shops there, they are so much better. Lesson learned.

35 GowthorpeNOT GOOD. Chips were well undercooked and soggy. I had to air fry them for 10 mins when i got home. And the mains were lacking on proper chunks of meat, just had lots of tiny bits. Not returning!

GowthorpeI visited with my assistance dog around 11:15 with no issues. Later returning to be asked after being in the establishment for a while if I had a card to prove she was an assistance dog. Explaining I had already been in the lady said okay yeah that's fine and left. Another man came up very pleasant asking my dogs name and then proceeded to ask about this card. I said I've already seen someone about it. He then began to patronise me making me feel very uncomfortable. I explained I had my injection but he proceeded to put his phone by me with the rules that he actually said were new. It is discrimination to ask someone to prove they have an assistance dog and was treated terribly having to leave. Then to be accused of lying that I wasnt in earlier. It is absolutely disgraceful to be treated in such a way. Shame on you wetherspoons. Do better and have respect for people.
