Really dissappointed thouggt we were booked for bft but seemingly not.it was expensive for room early.bedrooms and bar areas were lovely but no customers. Pub closed up before 10.30 and nobody there to hand key into.

Our host Wayne was extremely warm and welcoming. He showed us to our room personally and carried my partners bag which was lovely. The room was spotless and surprisingly spacious. We had dinner which was quite tasty and the breakfast which was included was great. We were there on a Saturday night and the 2 for 1 cocktails really were great value. All in all this was the perfect place to stay after a day in York.

Been today for Sunday lunch, absolutely brilliant, very tasty, very hot & really good portions, staff very pleasant & helpful, will certainly be going back, hardly any waiting either

We travelled from London for a friend’s wedding at Carlton towers. This pub was the perfect location. The accommodation was great. The rooms were clean. Beds very comfortable. The host was very friendly and welcoming. A big win was the breakfast. I would highly recommend hotel.

Excellent place to stay in our way to York. Very comfortable, recently refurbished and clean rooms with wet room and comfortable beds. We ate dinner in the pub and the food and service was excellent, large portions and friendly staff

Visited here for an evening meal, wasn't sure the restaurant was open as I couldn't see opening hours. The lady serving behind the bar was lovely and welcoming, the food was good, though a little expensive. The atmosphere was a bit quiet, but the interiors are lovely 😊

I stayed here for a wedding at Carlton Manor Estate. Was a 10 minute walk to venue. Drink service was a little slow, but it was busy. The pub food looked really nice but I didn't eat in the evening. Rooms were in a separate building to the pub. They were nice and lovely and clean. The included breakfast was fantastic.

I was struggling for a place last minute due to work and found this place and did not regret it. The quality of sleep was amazing & food was really nice. To top it off the customer service was the best I’ve received definitely recommend for work purposes & leisure.

Recently reopened under new management, the food is great. Lots of choice from a mix of traditional and Jamaican food all made authentically. Welcoming atmosphere with friendly attentive staff. We'll definitely be back.

Had Sunday lunch with a party of 7 including our 2year old grandson. Staff very accommodating in attentive throughout our meal. Food was excellent all fresh veg and lots of it. I had the salmon that was cooked to perfection and everyone else had the roast beef. Everyone cleared their plates it was delicious and we will definitely be going back.

Lovely people running the place, they couldn't do enough for us! fabulous proximity to Carlton Towers.

Exceptionally friendly and superb value for money. Modern comfortable rooms and tastefully renovated pub with large cooked breakfasts and traditional pub grub. A lovely find.

After a long run I went to meet friends at the Oddfellows, I passed out in the pub. The customers, staff and owners were fantastic, in particular Gracie who made sure I was looked after... to top it all off the food and drink following that was sublime.

Quality rooms! Stayed here for a night to attend a wedding at Carlton Towers. The rooms here are spot on and Mitch can't do enough for you. Didn't make it for breakfast but my room mate did and had no complaints. Top drawer

Lovely atmosphere, Great food and friendly staff.

Absolutely brilliant. Came here as a party of ten on a Sunday. 6 adults and 4 kids. All of the staff were super attentive, the wine was lovely, food is excellent. One of the best Sunday lunches I’ve ever had, and I’ve had a lot. Mitch, who is a legend, came over and did some magic tricks for the kids (and big kids). Can’t rate this place highly enough to be honest.

Really great pub grub with fresh ingredients. Pie was very generous portion, with tender steak and gravy in a proper pastry case. And the lightest sticky toffee pudding I have ever had. Delicious!

Excellent Bed and Breakfast. Staff were amazing. Rooms were great really comfortable beds. Landlady and Landlord were fabulous. Really lovely people. Drove us to the Carlton Towers were we were attending a wedding and picked us at the end of the night. We would definitely stay there again.

Very good meal and pleasant service

Superb AirBnB accomodation in a style akin to a standard hotel. Beds are very large and a fantastic wet room style ensuite with rainmaker shower head. The pub is great with an up to date country pub feel and breakfast (full English) will likely keep me fed for the entire day. The owner is exceptionally friendly and will try to make your stay as enjoyable as possible.

Visited on Friday night for dinner with six of us including two kids, varied menu and well priced. Service was relaxed and friendly/informal and even apologised for lack of attentiveness due to being busy which we didn't even notice so can tell they pride themselves on looking after their customers. Food was excellent, all tasted fresh and good quality of produce, also portion sizes were generous so I was one happy chap! Had the calamari and prawn starter which was cooked to perfection followed by rump steak which was cooked to exactly how I asked (rare). Overall a very pleasant and satisfying experience, highly recommend and looking forward to coming back soon.

Fantastic place to stay. Both the owners are fantastic. Very friendly and go out of their way to look after you. Rooms are immaculate and modern. Cannot fault anything.

Booked as a celebratory meal after finishing University, food and the staff were lovely. Very large portions... Couldn't eat all of it but good pricing for what you get. Social distancing was maintained where possible, would recommend.

Great local pub with very accommodating and friendly staff. Our friends moved locally last year and when we visit from Scotland it's like a home from home!!! Top selection of drafts, great menu, cooked breakfast spectacular and Sunday lunch is phenomenal!!! Hope to see the gang soon, Chico

We came here to visit the local wildlife park in the middle of Covid chaos where not much was open. They took our booking at quite late notice but the rooms were lovely and Mitch couldn't have done enough for us. Even though we were one of the only families there he sorted out a lovely breakfast including a veggie one for us the next day and spent time talking to us. Restaurant was great inside and would definitely recommend! Thanks Mitch and Caroline - from the Murphys

We've not been here since it was taken over by new owners but I'm glad we did. The Sunday lunch was genuinely one of the best I've had in a long time!The food was beautiful, huge portions and really good value. The staff were good and everything looked clean and well sanitised. As we left a gent introduced himself (I believe he may have been the owner) and asked if we'd had enjoyed everything.Yes we did and we will definitely be back again!Highly recommended.

Best meal I have had in a long time, the Halloumi was cooked to perfection, having lived in Cyprus I was taken back there with the taste. Just wonderful.

In the last 3 weeks, my partner and I have 'used' The Odddfellows 4 times! We didn't plan it that way but once we got the taste for it, we just keep coming back! The first time we went together we ate in. Everything was spot on: food, drinks, service, presentation when the food arrived and prices are great value for the portions you get too. In view if the covid restrictions and measures they have had to put in place, like many other pubs, they are managing the new 'pub life' very well and I'm really glad they can. For our latest 3 visits, we ordered take away food instead of eating there, and there is nothing in the 'take away' version that lets this establishment down. The food quality and taste is the same great one, the presentation in the take-away boxes is still good too! And the convenience of having great food, collecting it and not having to cook when we are spending our evenings redecorating the house is a real bonus. You couldn't wish or ask for a better pub / food / menu / owners / staff / service / price combo!... And we will keep returning!

Went out for husbands birthday had stunning food, felt very safe re Covid All in all lovely evening.

This is an excellent well run , pub restaurant and hotel. The food is very good and the service is excellent. In these time of the virus the safety standards are well established, from random temperature testing, table spacing and table service you feel safe. Happy to recommend it.

Wonderful food great pub and very friendly staff

A community spirited pub who went above and beyond during lockdown of 2020 getting meals out to those that needed it the most. They have also just started doing breakfasts which are delicious. Great staff Great landlord (who also does magic) Consistently good food. You are well looked after here especially with social distancing Dog friendly and lovely hotel rooms as well 👍

Called in for the first time and it won't be the last 3 courses for £15 well worth it. Friendly owners and lovely helpful staff.

We stayed here on a work trip , the lager was ice cold , the landlord and staff were very friendly , we told him we couldn’t make breakfast so he packed up a lovely lunch with homemade quiche and scotch eggs . We decided to have breakfast it was great . He didn’t charge us any extra . The rooms were lovely and clean. Would definitely recommend it nice for couples too .

Friendly landlord clean and welcoming pub. Disappointed with the quality of the breakfast didn't feel it was freshly prepared as it was quite dry and over cooked effort had been made with presentation but this is nothing without good food.

Excellent sunday lunch with fantastic Yorkshire pudding & very convenient to the local cricket ground Carlton Towers C.C where I watched the national village KO semi-finals.

Mitch the landlord picked us up from the camp site and took us there and back. Great service. Beer was spot on and the food great, although only one veggie dish, hence the 4 stars. Would go again.

Food was very nice and staff were very friendly but the service was very very slow . We were booked in at 7 and didn't get our desert until 930 pm .

The staff and hosts are terrific. Some of the friendliest people you’d wish to meet. Recent chef change and revised menu seems very impressive. Had delicious meals last weekend and with great service. The Covid safety stuff is sensible without being in your face and intrusive. The only thing I’d like to see would be more real ale please ! Otherwise well done Odddfellows!

We were only there for one night and even though we did not have an evening meal there, a few things stood out. The bar and dining areas were well furnished and decorated as was the room we had. The latter did have everything that one would expect and overlooked a small shared courtyard where we had a drink ahead of heading out for a meal with a friend in the next village. This was where a BIG SURPRISE arose. Mitch, the landlord, asked if we were eating in there. We said no as our friend had arranged for us to eat elsewhere as stated earlier. He asked how we were getting there to which we answered 'by car'. He then said that as we had not seen our friend for a while and to allow us to perhaps sample more than 1 drink, he would take us there which he duly did and the real bonus was that he picked us up afterwards as well!!! On our return, we had a nightcap in the bar which enabled us to chat to some of the staff who were very affable and helpful.The following morning we had a full English breakfast and I mean full which rounded of what was a very pleasant stay and experience. Would definitely recommend!

Just had a superb dinner at Odddfellows tonight. The steak pie was absolutely delicious and cheesecake dessert the best I have had. Ever!! Great service and a lovely atmosphere. Well worth a visit for a great night out x

just had a weekend stay at the oddfellows. Rooms are great . Real comfy beds. Food is excellent as is the beer. And the hosts and staff are brilliant. We had a big dog with us and nothing was too much trouble.. d

After a visit to Carlton towers we had looked into going for some food and choose here. We were greeted warmly by the staff and seated straight away, drinks ordered and menus brought. Food was delicious and hot. One pie, one scampi and one sharing board With chips. The owner came over to ask if everything was ok and we found him very pleasant and friendly.Would highly recommend if you in the area.

The food was delicious and all homemade, the staff were polite and respectful and the whole atmosphere was very pleasant. Highly recommended!

The Odddfellows is our local pub and can not recommend it enough. Food is outstanding . Always a friendly warm welcome . Everything you want from a village pub.

We booked here for my mums birthday and we had afternoon tea, we booked the last thing the night before and when we got there they had put together a birthday table for her with balloons it was soo lovely, the staff and owners went above and beyond to make her feel special! The food was absolutely fantastic, with sandwiches, sausage rolls, pork pie, quiche, scotch egg, cake and scones with clotted cream and jam ! There was soo much food we had to take some home ! Such a great price too ! Cannot stress enough how good the whole experience was. Lovely people, food and a great time. Would definitely recommend to anyone and will be going back as soon as I get the opportunity.Thank you

We were attending a family wedding at Carlton towers on Thursday and originally booked in at another hotel, which sadly had flooded along with other surrounding areas due to the bad rain. The other hotel let us know on the morning of the wedding what was happening, I immediately went to booking.com to have a look at other hotels close by, when I come across Oddfellows. I called to see if the flooding had affected the hotel and was told there were rooms available! Check in was really fast as we were handed the keys and able to pay following our stay as we were already running late for the wedding with roads being closed etc... I believe the main women's name is Carol (I apologise if I have got that wrong) was lovely offering us a lift to Carlton Towers but also told us to call her to pick us up when we were coming back. The rooms were gorgeous, everything you could need, really cosy and the bed was lush breakfast was delicious and prices were so affordable perfect service. I also want to add what an amazing community it sounds like you have, given the sad circumstances of flooding and people's homes flooding they were also stopping in rooms at the hotel. It was so nice to here the support being spread and hampers being made up by volunteers to help out where possible - truly beautiful to hear and see! Will 100% return, it is our anniversary next weekend and we are considering coming back for that if weather allows. Had I have known about the hotel in the first place I would have booked here.Thank you so much for your hospitality, well done to you guys for the hard work you all deliver.Many thanks from Jade and Chloe - room 4.

Owners and staff are so friendly

The choice was amazing and the generosity and quality of the food was fantastic. Six of us are there on Saturday evening and before we left we were all planning our next visit. Just unbelievable how good it was for the price. If the bill had come to double we would still have been happy to pay. I had the plough man's platter which was delicious. Everything came with so many extras. The staff were were extremely friendly as was Mitch the landlord who came over introduced himself and kept a watchful but not intrusive eye on us to check everything was ok. So happy to have found this jewel of a place. I will certainly be recommending Odd Fellows.

Stayed over for a wedding that was at Carlton Towers. Mitch and his Wife was amazingly welcoming, Could of talked to Mitch for hours. He dropped us off at the wedding, and his Wife picked us up. Such a nice couple. Even gave us some shower gel as we forgot ours!!Would def stay there again, and would highly recommend it to anyone needing a room for the night.

Our party of 4 couples stayed here for two nights in February for a family wedding at Carlton Towers.From entering the building we were immediately made to feel welcome by smiling staff saying hello.The exterior of The Oddfellows is due to be redecorated,but the inside has been recently tastefully refurbished to a very high standard.The bedrooms have also been recently refurbished,again to a very high standard and are spotlessly clean and very comfortable.The breakfast is a feast and the evening meals are excellent.The bar is very well stocked and the bar staff very friendly.We were part of a group of four couples who are all well travelled and we would rate The Oddfellows very highly.The owners Caroline and Mitch could not have been more pleasant and helpful.We would have no hesitation in returning and recommending to anyone.Caroline and Mitch’s service went beyond our expectations,thanks again for a great stay.Lynn and David

Brilliant family run pub and hotel

My brother and I stayed overnight for a family visit.We had 2 rooms in the annex which was very modern clean and comfortable.We booked a table for 7pm and had to wait a while for our meal because it was exeptionaly busy.When the food arrived we not disappointed it was lovely.Caroline and Mitch are your hosts and their standards and service are second to none.I would defiantly recomend the oddfellows

Booked table for 7pm, had to wait until 7.40 to sit down as no tables available. When we were seated, the tables were so close together we had to ask the people on the next table to let us out each time we wanted to get past. We finally ordered food, but the main courses didn’t arrive until gone 9, a full 2 hours after we had arrived. The food itself was definitely average, chicken fajitas were terrible, just looked like a chicken breast thrown on top of a jar of sauce? The pie was quite good, proper chips too which was a positive. To be fair we were offered a free round of drinks for the delays, but 2 hours wait isn’t really remedied by a free cup of tea. Overall it felt like they are taking too many bookings and cramming in too many tables, to the point where the space isn’t big enough and the kitchen can’t cope. Disappointing, we probably won’t return.

Having passed this pub many times me and partner have always wanted to try it so decided to give it a go one Saturday evening.The place was packed when we first got sat down but within around 20 minutes it has started to empty as it was quite late.We were given our table at around 8. Out starters came at around 8:45. I had the pork belly which was lovely. We then had to wait until 9:25 for our mains. I ordered the chilli which when it came was cold. As no member of staff came over to ask how our food was my partner had to go to the bar to ask for it to be warmed back up. By the time it came out it was around 9:35 and my partners food had almost gone. We then had another long wait for the bill and in the end had to go to the bar to pay. We left at around 10pm after arriving at 7:30. Maybe we visited on a bad night but this has still put me off going again.

I’m not from around the area but I come to Yorkshire regularly, I’d wanted to try The Oddfellows for a while.

Had the most amazing and filling afternoon tea on Christmas eve.
