Have visited many times over the years en-route from Yorkshire to Scotland but sadly the quality of food as the price has increased. Such a shame, but we felt ripped off at approaching £60 for 3 breakfasts that left us all still hungry. The veggie option was in particular a disgrace

If you take the next left turn after Mainsgill on the A66 towards the Lakes, and carry on down the lane , through Ravensworth village, you'll come to the best farm shop cafe around. Great food, great friendly staff and easy to find location and parking. STONEYGATE CAFE & FARM SHOP. Whether for breakfast, lunch, brunch or even drive through takeaway you'll not be disappointed there. The all day breakfast will set you up for the day and I can personally recommend the french toast with crispy local back bacon and maple syrup. The burgers are grand too, as is the Sunday roast. All in all, you can't fail to be impressed. (For people reading this in the local area - please support a great local business and use the farm shop if not the cafe as well...you won't be disappointed. )

Fantastic food. Burgers are great. A new dish, chicken waffle was tasty too. Welcoming staff and friendly atmosphere. Highly recommended.
