1st visit to The Greyhound at Bagby but certainly won’t be our last. Absolutely fantastic Sunday dinner, normally only have two courses but had to try the desserts too. Food was superb, excellent value for money, and all staff very friendly. Highly recommend !

Sunday lunch disappointing. Waited a long time to be served a ridiculously noisy back bar area. Crammed in with another table. Front bar or restaurant would have been better. Food was disappointing small portion for Sunday lunch standard size and hardly any vegetables. My food came and was replaced by this time my partner had almost finished hers. The wait was what seemed for ever. I seldom loose my cool or get frustrated my meal came back with the wrong one. It was sorted out eventually by the house keeper/manager professionally. Hopefully a one off I have excellent meals here in the past just went wrong today. I would recommend getting there early not mid afternoon. Having drive from York I was hoping to have a good experience it just did not happen today .

Lovely pub for a walking route stay over. Staff were really lovely and friendly, evening meal was really good and they pulled a decent pint of Black Sheep to boot. Hotel room was really comfy and a great place to rest between days of walking. The only downside was the loudmouth at the bar most of the evening - Smithy if his bellowing was to be believed. He seemed intent on chatting up the female bar staff when they were there and talking lewdly about them to his mates when they weren’t. Made those of us eating in the bar area feel awkward as his loudness and crude discussion about the staff was inappropriate and borderline sexual harassment - something for the pub management to keep an eye on going forward.

Spent a lot of time in this pub when passing in the area. Arrived for a family meal after a day out in Thirsk. The welcoming from the blonde/gray larger sized women was abysmal very cold and frosty, boarding on rude, like our custom was not wanted. It is such a shame as this pub has so much potential, the food prices had also increased and the quantity was far from what it was. I really hope some magic dust gets sprinkled on this place and some new management takes on this place soon. I do not want to spend my hard earned money on somewhere I am not welcomed.
