The best restaurants in Codsall South South Staffordshire West Midlands

The food was lovely and really well cooked and presented, friendly atmosphere, lovely place to walk. My wife loved the sausage.

Great pub with beer options, lovely quirkiness, sadly not hospitable enough to entertain a group of friends. We are a running club they enjoys a social run and then bite to eat/drinks. This felt ideal location being on the Shrewsbury to Birmingham Trainline. Looked good pub grub on the menu Tried in vain to reserve tables, although booking was taken initially, manger confirmed we couldn’t have them due to regular kids football team - fair enough, if you have a regular booking, keep them happy. Asked for other tables and told no, chef could not deal with that amount of people. About 20. Explained majority would have cheese / meat cobs with drinks, answer still no to reserve any tables. Had to push to say but we can come in as walk in’s, grab a drink and and a cob - yes, but a real reluctant yes. We did exactly that and can’t say we were made to feel welcome. 2 runners did ask for lasagne and ploughman’s and were told, you can’t have them only cobs Whilst there we did not see the junior football club and the lounge seats remained free for a while. Not sure why you would turn down sure fire business. Not enthused to go back, if we do maybe not in running kit 🤣🤣

The service was shocking it was as if they forgot we were on a table. The waiter took 20 minutes minimum between courses and apparently it was due to being busy and multiple breaks during that but that was just an excuse the place as a whole was a decent pub and the food was very good and it was delivered quickly (a big shock) but in general it should not take 50 minutes between ordering our main and receving a desert menu i I personally would not come again the only thing saving it from being 1 star was the food

I ordered two drinks, both were made wrong as we asked for no Milk. The young girl was incredibly rood. As was her friend. I don’t recommend here at all. And will never go back. £8 for two small drinks. Better going to Costa or Starbux
