Codsall Station in South Staffordshire

Just had the chilli loaded fries for the first time, fantastic, never had a bad meal here, never had a bad pint here, rare these days, plus Toby and the staff are amazing..... Best pub ever.. Richard

Great little country pub, on the wolverhampton to Shrewsbury line, codsall station, as it says a Holdens pub on the site of the old station platform, what a gem, ( Days gone bye ) good selection of beers, & alfresco seating. Dog friendly, food avaliable, they also hold a beer festival.

Heard a lot about this pub and the good reviews about the food so decided to try it. Lovely fire greeted us along with a welcoming barmaid who took our food order. Lasagne was really tasty and grandson finished his sausage and mash. Will return soon to try other dishes on the menu.

Brilliant pub food and staff. They couldn't do enough for us. Limited hot food but lovely, with good-sized portions. Holdens beer looked great, but I did not drink myself as driving. Would definitely recommend

Left the Crown in Codsall sharpish due to real ale well past it's best.... Decided to visit the station for a reliable pint... Great beer as always.

I first came here in later 1990s when the station to pub conversation was first completed. It's the same wonderful if slightly quirky location with great tradional Holdens beers and good value simple foods. Outside seating in fine weather with the trains passing every 30 minutes or so. Black Country Special beer is one of my all time favorite beers. A real gem and definitely worth a visit. For those without any sense of taste they do have Carling/Madri lager....

Another great visit to this friendly pub. We normally just have Cob and Chips here but decided to book a table for my birthday. 5 of us had fantastic meals with the usual great beers on tap. Would definitely recommend the Faggots (really meaty) and chips. Staff very friendly and helpful as always. Looking forward to next visit in the new year. and chips

Very friendly pub! Dog friendly too! Beer is well kept but the main draw for us are the superb hot pork and turkey baps which are to die for!!!!

Good pub. Good choice of ales. Decent food. Five yards from the train. What more can you ask?

Avoid this place if you intend to enjoy yourself. The landlady is the most unsociable person i have ever met. Give it a miss

manager is an absolute joke. 10 of us visited on a great day out, one of us accidentally dropped a glass. She came out and was really arrogant and shouting at us. Please resign.

Been treated by pub manager as i have never been so insulated in my life by her please avoid this pub

Shocking !!! Parked the car in a space no cones no bolards ! Walked into ! Is that your car can you move it !!! No hello, no reason just called out in a bar full of people !!! Realised how rude she was and was over polite the rest of our stay !!

A great little stop along our Codsall pub crawl. Memorabilia up on the walls and a nice atmosphere. Mind the trains flying along the line, they’ll rattle your pint off the table! Friendly service and decent draught selection.

Nice friendly pub in a nice location with ample parking. Beer is lovely. Pop a bit overpriced and wine ridiculous for bottom end plonk. The food is expensive for what it is. Nice place for a drink but I would recommend elsewhere for a decent feed at a reasonable price.

I had the plough mans, was nothing special other than tasty with fresh crisp salad and ham x3 & square sliced cheese x2 with a roll and small pot of pickle also a pork pie, the people with me had a very nice lasagna. All in all a really good experience.

A very nice station pub, not too crowded on this visit. Dog friendly in the bar area. Worth a visit for the cheese and onion cobs on their own. Good selection of Holdens beers and the usual pub drinks.

I was pleasantly surprised by how nice the food is and how plentiful at reasonable prices. The bread was so light and fresh and did not leave you with that bloated feeling. Not a vast menu which to me is a really good sign that it is fresh, large menus are usually frozen bought in rubbish. The staff are very pleasant and on the ball and the service is fast. Cannot comment on the beer but will do once of the wagon. Will be visiting the station again very soon.

Accidentaly step out of the train. This place is great to enjoy local beer. I am really happy for the looks of the pub. The beer was English but worh it! It really helped us 😀 to wait for the other train.

Stopped here several times. Ales are always spot on. I had a coffee which was good and treated myself to a slice of Victory sponge cake, yummy.

Codsall station is an un assuming pub that sells the best beer in the County, the beer is always in great condition and the atmosphere is great. Good food as well.

Good little pub located within the old station building at Codsall. Beers predominantly by Holdens. Also a decent selection of pub food at reasonable prices. The staff are friendly and helpful. Dogs are welcome in the bar area. Well worth a visit.

I was pleasantly surprised how nice a pub it was went in mid week on a night and wasn't too busy. I imagine it is busier on the weekend or in the middle of the day when more trains are running but the tables seem to be positioned so you can see what's going on but have enough privacy to have a conversation with someone at your table. Would definitely recommend.

Bar area nice traditional. Nice staff. Could be better If they made it more cosy with better ambient lighting could do with a revamp. As it's got the railway you would want to make people get off the train and stop for a drink .

Great local pub. Range of cobs (or baps depending on where you are from) available behind the bar. Good selection of beers, with regular visiting beers. Lots of memorabilia from its time as a ticket station in the great Western railway. Good atmosphere. Can get busy in peak times as it is popular in the village

A good pub serving good beer. It's the size of a local train station with a conservatory and an outside area to drink and watch trains go by. A good atmosphere but I did go with a group of 15 people on a Monday night. We took over the main room but there was still other areas to sit in. Food menu looked good too.

Have a pint get on the train.. Excellent

Always a favourite. Pedalled there from Perton, where I had been giving blood for the benefit of my fellow man, to get the train back to Telford. Maybe I should have mentioned in the hope of a free pint?

Great place to drop in for some home coked food that was delivered with a smile. Great range of beers as well. The ham, egg and chips were very tasty with the ham being succulent. Nice atmosphere.

Beer was OK. Not much change in beer selection from last visit. But lots better than waiting for a cancelled train on an empty platform with a can of pop.

First time here. A lovely place very nicely kept, lovely staff and delicious food. Portions were massive, I had lasagne and partner had sausage and mash. What was really nice was other customers saying bye when we left. Will definitely go again.
