We walked 2.5 miles to find this pub and were disappointed. On the way in two ladies on the doorstep told us to watch out for the bar man but he didn't seem off to us,just not very happy. There was no atmosphere at all, the bar staff were just complaining loudly about how empty it was in there for a Saturday. Only one choice of flavoured cider and it did not even taste of black currant. Would not return.

We were gifted a voucher for an afternoon cream tea here. Upon arrival we sat at the bar, waiting for to be called in. The afternoon tea was unlimited selection of teas or coffee, and set amount of sandwiches, sausage rolls, scones and cakes. We liked the restaurant area and the view. I'd recommend this place for a stay or dining out or for afternoon tea.

Had family visiting from Stoke on Trent and wanted to take them for lunch and The Railway was the only place I could think of where they would be welcomed warmly by the staff, have an excellent lunch and get to try some amazing puddings (added a picture of my pudding as it was out of this world and the presentation was beautiful) and they were very happy with their experience! Beautiful outdoor area, plenty of water refills for our dog and the food was excellent as always. Allison and the team deserve all the recognition for how hard they work! 😊

A cosy, unpretentious pub, we ate here on 3 occasions during a week's stay nearby and experienced a warm welcome and friendly and efficient service each time. The menu has plenty ofl choices, including vegetarian/vegan options and we enjoyed all the meals we had. There was also a good choice of drinks on offer, including 2 locally brewed cask beers. Would definitely return on future visits to the area.
