Was walking the entire length of the Malverns, and this place was at the perfect point on the return route back south. It's literally just 2mins off the trail with a good selection of local beers and a nice view over Malvern. Welcoming staff - will try out the food next time.

First, Im entitled for asking for a glass of water? Youre not the entitled one for denying it after paying 5.10? He doesnt drink water so what am i supposed to do? Give you money for water that costs a few pence? Paid £5.10 for a pint and asked for tap water and ice. A man served us and a woman said to him don't put ice in the drink. Asked for another water and she said she can't keep putting ice in the drink if you're not paying for a drink. We paid £5.80 anyway and she didn't put it in the first time. Sounds petty but it's 2 blocks of ice on a hot day after 4 hours of hiking. Edit: Firstly, i notice when anybody gives you a bad, honest review, you switch it up and respond making them look bad. That doesnt say anything about me, it says more about how an owner cant handle criticism. Secondly, Entitled person? Its water. Just warer. If only you were to mention that. Every single pub I've ever been to no matter the city or country has gave water completely for free. You obviously have a lot of business so I'm sure 1 cup of water won't break the business. We were planning on buying a meal but when you cant even give a glass of water to somebody who's just walking why should we. A glass of water, of course it costs money but it costs a few pence while Human kindness costs nothing. It wasn't even you that took the order and you still had to take control, it was somebody else and your still the person down his ear telling him what to do. You're the one who caused this so accept the criticism, fix the problems and move on instead of replying trying to make everybody else look bad.

Loved it! We had checked before if it was dog friendly and it certainly is. Having been walking in the Malverns, The Wyche Inn is situated in a very convenient place, between hills. We sat outside in the sunshine (with other dog owners) enjoying a nice cool drink and ordered some food. They provide nice fresh water bowls for the dogs too. We really enjoyed the filled ciabatta with sausage and onions/ fish fingers, with chips and salad.

Very disappointing visit, were made to feel very unwelcome. Staff and customers propping up bar were very rude to us about asking for a coffee, told us it wasn't a cafe!- plus multiple people laughing. No nice interaction with us- (group of 5 hikers) Lights were turned off on us before we had got up from table. Nasty comments made to us on exiting the pub side door. We were made to feel a big inconvenience and treated very unprofessionally - needless to say we will not be returning nor any of our hiking friends from multiple groups. Which is a shame as have been here twice before and different experience completely- it seems to have gone downhill drastically :( Update to this review following response from owner that I can't reply to. Firstly and most importantly sorry for your loss :-( We may have to agree to disagree on this as you may have thought your pub was in safe hands but in my opinion it was not well represented whilst you were away none of us were unpolite, rude or demanding in any way and staff and family member of bar lady were not as they report to you professional. I really hope you don't need to leave same people in charge again. And I do still point out as already mentioned our previous 2 visits were very different.

I'm absolutely shocked by the customer service that my friends an I recieved in this establishment, the staff were extreamly rude and laughing about their sacarstic comments to us & as for the person who was propping up the bar with pink hair and face piercings, they should be ashamed of themselves, the aggressive manner and rudeness from this individual was un called for and shouting at us to get out of the pub was shocking, we are a hiking group that stopped in for refreshments, this experience was a shame and I will be letting other groups know about our experience, I will not be returning!!

As many of the lowest reviews on Google for this pub indicate, the staff have a vengeance against people requesting tap water and not purchasing a drink. I visited the pub today while walking Malvern Hills with my friends, we used the restroom and were looking to order drinks. Three of my friends decided they wanted tap water while me and my friend wanted lemon and lime. The bar staff refused to serve us because not everyone was buying drinks and proceeded to talk about the struggling costs and bills for the pub, so we decided to vacate. While walking away from the bar I told my friends that licensed venues must serve free tap water to which another member of the bar staff told me to shut my mouth. I found this to be very rude, unprofessional and left a bitter taste in my mouth. From a business standpoint, I found this situation to be completely absurd. There were plenty of empty tables in the pub which do not generate revenue. Turning away a group of people, some of whom want to purchase drinks and some who want tap water seems counterinitiative as there is some revenue to be generated as opposed to none at all on empty tables. Paragraph 2 of the Licensing Act 2003 (Mandatory Licensing Conditions) (Amendment) Order 2014 – “The responsible person must ensure that free potable water is provided on request to customers where it is reasonably available.”

Not the place it used to be, seems to have lost all of it atmosphere now and it looks really dated. It’s trying to be an more up market middle class food pub but at the same time looks like a strange mix of artex, 70s floor tiles and fake antique beams. Could do with a good makeover.

Had a lovely walk in the Malvern hills and had this place on the route marked to visit and have a lunch and icecream. We walked in went up to ask for a tap water for myself (as I have just had an operation so I am not allowed to have an alcoholic drink) and my mum wanted a cider. Whilst we were going to look at the menu. We were (rudely) told we’d both have to buy a drink, I said I just wanted a water explained I wasn’t drinking (also not a soft drink fan) they told me to buy a bottle of water. Which to me seems crazy, it’s not about the money at all, we are in an area of outstanding beauty and you want me to use single use plastic when there’s perfectly nice tap water. Shame as we would have stayed and had lunch a few beers and ice cream. Instead we walked just down the road to the Chase inn, where they were polite and more importantly welcoming. We had a lovely lunch, I drank tap water and my mum had a few beers. I think looking at your other reviews about the same issue maybe the way to make money is to be polite and let people enjoy a water and then they will go on to buy food and drinks. You missed out on our business and the money has gone to a competitor. What a shame.

We came in as a group of 8, planning to get food and some drinks after walking on the Malvern hills. From the get go the staff were pretty rude, but we were hungry so we sat down and two of us ordered drinks while everyone was reading the menu. When the waitress brought us the drinks, she demanded that we must all order something otherwise we cannot stay in the pub because we are taking up space (bearing in mind the pub was mostly empty). We felt so uninvited that we decided we didn't want to eat in this atmosphere anymore, so we drank our drinks and left. On the way out the cook made a sarcastic comment: "thank you for supporting the pub by spending money". I didn't say it to her when walking out, but I hope that she realizes that if they had been a bit more welcoming and kind, we would have easily spent over £200 there. Shame about this, it used to be a friendly pub. Hopefully the staff can learn from this.

This quaint Pub & Inn, is a relaxing and mature environment for walkers, travellers and locals to enjoy great food, cold drinks and the incredible view. With outdoor seating for the bold and indoor seating for those wanting a quiet corner to chat, this venue accommodates most. An important distinction with this particular eatery is the larger selection of vegetarian options. However I did find the drinks to be more expensive than most, however we did not have anything alcoholic, so this may not be representative of most peoples experience. Overall I'd highly recommend this place and shall be returning soon. It's important to note that if you visit at a busy time, there is unlikely to be parking directly outside, and you may need to walk for a few minutes from where you park the car.

We went to the swan on Saturday the 2nd of November, we arrived as a group of 18 and all ordered food and drinks after 45 mins our food and another’s hadn’t turned up then a very grumpy waitress arrived to tell us they were out of steak can we order something else , after asking why our food hadn’t come when we ordered so long ago we were then told they had missed our order , no apologies and two very rude staff Mille and another who explained we were offered an alternative which we weren’t and when we tried !! To explain this we were then told we were lying as she knows Millie and she always tells the truth …. We ended up leaving after over an hour and having no food ! Service was shocking and honestly just the rudest I’ve had in a long time - mistakes get made but to not get a sorry or a free drink for our wait after the money we spent was shocking - don’t recommend!!!!! Avoid

The hotel has an excellent location but seriously disappoints. Beautiful period building with a depressing and cheaply furnished interior. Room was well-heated, but gloomy and very basic. Duvet and pillows very poor. Nasty cheap carpets throughout the room and whole hotel. Reception not manned after 8pm. Atmosphere was soulless, dismal and depressing. Everything appears done on the cheap, (except, maybe, its restaurant, which appears to be promoted for non-residents). I did not dine, so cannot comment on the restaurant food. Service at breakfast was almost non existent. Tables not laid. Very limited cold selection. Hot breakfast food was OK. Sadly, I regretted having booked and paid for a second night at this hotel. What a shame for such a nice town and iconic location.
