This shop and cafe is the first one in the country situated inside a church. It has been beautifully designed to complement the ecclesiastical architecture and has a good range of produce all beautifully displayed within the shop. The cafe sells a good mix of teas, coffee, cakes, pastries and sandwiches plus hot soup during the winter months. Customers can sit inside the church or outside when the weather permits. Dogs on leads are permitted in the cafe but not in the shop. There’s a separate door for those taking their dogs into the cafe. Water bowls are provided both inside and outside. We visited with friends on a Sunday afternoon, choosing delicious cakes, tea and coffee and were served by very friendly and helpful staff. It is a good place to stop for walkers and cyclists being surrounded by the hundreds of acres of Minchinhampton Common which is managed by the National Trust and therefore has open access to everyone. I would definitely recommend visiting this delightful venue and I’m sure you’ll be given a warm welcome.

Very friendly staff, and great service. Sunday roast which was good, very tasty gravy and homemade horseradish, only marked down as was told beef was med rare, but it was almost blue.

We were both disappointed with the fish and chipsWe ordered two fish & chips and a paneer madras. We were both disappointed with the F & C. It was a beautiful large piece of fish, but we were worried on first appearance. Very pale batter on the fish and a rather dark finish to the chips. The batter was undercooked and soggy, not a trace of crispiness. The fish was good, but the batter was no complement to it. Sadly disappointing. The chips were on the very point of being over cooked, We looked at two other local pubs and the Old Lodge menu looked the best, sadly the food wasn't.

Quick service but the pizzas are terrible. Pretty sure they're frozen. Pick up a piece and all the cheese just falls off. Won't be ordering again. Disgusting.

INCREDIBLE. I’ve never been to a burger van that has given me quality food along with fantastic customer service. The portion sizes are great and the costs are low, always greeted with a smile every time. Not only that but the food tastes amazing. Highly recommend, will definitely be a regular from now on!

Visited after seeing it on the Youtube channel 'Roaming the Cotswolds' and after a walk around the common. As the vid had been taken on a foggy day, I didn't expect a view with my pint. It's worth the visit alone. Only had drinks and snacks, but staff were great and everyone enjoyed the sunshine in the rear garden, while dogs and toddlers played around us.

We needed a couple of nights away to unwind and this was perfect for us.The location is really lovely and so quiet .The staff were all extremely friendly and accommodating. We were booked in on a wowcher deal which included dinner on the first night and bed and breakfast. The dinner was delicious and so was the breakfast especially the sausages! Cath the lady on duty when we arrived was so friendly and very helpful too as was the manager. Our room was clean and comfortable. The shower was a little dated and small area but didn’t detract from our stay. The bar area could do with a bigger sitting area rather than at all the tables but the open fire made it cosy. We would very much like to come back and explore more of the area. There is a little cafe /general village store in the church opposite which served delicious coffee and cakes!
