We have sampled the food and hospitality at The Barn several times in the past, today, however, was the first Afternoon Tea we have tried there. From a warm welcome to our departure the service was excellent. Friendly and efficient. The afternoon tea was delicious, tasty sandwiches and rolls, lovely fresh warm, scones, very yummy brownies, cupcakes and banana cake, all helped down with a refreshing cup of Barn Brew Tea. Thank you.

This was our first time here and I had a “cowshed” breakfast and my wife had a “calf” breakfast - the “cow shed” was a larger breakfast with 2 eggs, 2 bacon and a hash brown along with baked beans and vine tomatoes mushrooms and toast and butter The staff are friendly and helpful We will return

Cuando visite Dorset siempre nos gusta llevar nuestro perro a pasear en Upton Park y es agradable para terminar nuestro paseo con un café y un aperitivo fuera del té. Muy agradable.

We're not local, just climbing and paddling along the south coast. After a long day on the sea, we decided to treat ourselves to fish and chips. The chips were golden and how chips should be. Phil was happy that he got to eat haddock, I went for cod. Both our meals were respectful portions. The staff are excellent: the girl on the till noticed that we had been overcharged, so gave us £4 back. We didn't realise, so thank you for your honesty x

We have recently attended two Sunday carveries under the new management. Our first experience was the trial carvery day and the second was two weeks later. We enjoyed the first carvery (the meat and potatoes being particularly good), but some of the vegetables on that occasion weren't so good. However, our second carvery food experience was markedly better. The turkey, beef and gammon joints were all well-cooked, the meats were succulent and tender and the portions generous. On the second occasion, the vegetables were also well cooked and there was a good selection. The staff are friendly and pleasant, but the ‘front of house’ could be better organised, although to be fair one member of staff said that they were trying different “meet and greet” options on the day. Hopefully this will also improve as experience is gained. After seeing very mixed reviews since the pub changed hands earlier this year, it is great to see a good carvery returning to the village. Give it a try and help support your local pub. We will definitely be back.

Came here one in the past, and was due to go to another pub with my mum, but she accidentally went to this one, hence why we ended up coming back here. We decided to cancel the other reservation. Both of us came to celebrate my birthday and found a good spot to sit. The atmosphere was relaxing and the food was great. I had the fish and chips and peas which was amazing. Very tasty. Mum had a meat pie dish, which she enjoyed. The only issue was lack of options for someone who doesn’t normally eat meat, except fish (I’m a vegetarian-fish consumer, forgot the actual name for people like myself), however, its a pub after-all so expect much meat! Overall, atmosphere was good and I enjoyed the time with my mum and will come back in the future. Thanks

we popped in for lunch, what a mistake! i was brought nachos with chile on stone cold,it was heated when i asked for it to be hot but the whole lot was just put in the oven hence burning the nachos.my mother had a prawn salad which did have A prawn in and was just a load of soft green leaves not pleasant, my father had a sardine salad which did have two fish and the same soft green leaves but for £7 you would expect more! as we where leaving i went to the bar to complain but all the staff had vanished !!!
