I have a severe dog allergy, but as it is becoming increasingly difficult to find dog free eateries, we decided to try The Cowshed with the hope it would be ok. Unfortunately we had to leave half way through our lunch due to the amount of dogs in such a small space triggering an allergic reaction (asthma and other symptoms) Dogs were also allowed to go up to the counter which I feel is unhygienic. We purchased chocolate orange cake to take home, but it was very hard around the edges and extremely dry. We will not be returning. Please Trip advisor introduce a filter for dog free eateries/hotels.

We visited this place with friends for a catch up, the atmosphere was nice and the food was really good. I would say it is reasonably priced, the only slight downside is that we were told you cannot book a table here, so you just have to turn up and hope it’s not too busy. Luckily we only had to wait 10 minutes ish. Other than that, it’s worth a visit and we will be back.

We visited here for breakfast having found it after we were staying at a nearby caravan park. Met on arrival and shown to a table in the courtyard. Menus provided and we ordered. Considering how busy the cafe was our drinks and then food came out quickly. The Eggs Benedict was yummy as was the additional hash brown. The sourdough with smashed avocado and poached eggs was another success. Will definitely be back when we stay nearby.

Arrived on a Monday around 1pm and luckily the cafe wasn’t too busy, waited to be seated and was ignored by a few members of staff, when one did come over we didn’t get the friendly reception we expected from a “family run” business. Sat down and looked at the menu and waited a while and no one came over, I then politely asked a member of staff “do we order at the counter or table” her answer was “here, what do you want” - really not the answer I expected! Food and drinks arrived quickly and were both tasty and good value for money, tried to chase someone for the bill and again we were ignored, one girl was walking round with her head in ground she looked so unhappy! A very nice cafe but the staff let it down and not what we expected for a family run business.

Nice menu, especially for light bites. Service good. Food "ok plus". Coffee was poor. Sorry, but it just tasted cheap. Most unfortunate feature was the noise, even though it was only half full at the time. There's definitely something wrong with the acoustics of the building.

Went for an anniversary breakfast and was really hoping for something special. Unfortunately there were many things that spoiled the experience. 1) Noise.. all tables were in use, so clearly a popular place. However the acoustics are dreadful. So what they need to do is simple. Google acoustic wall panel tiles, which can be decorative as well as functional. And place them around on the walls and ceiling. It will transform the environment. 2) Sour dough. Mine was toasted with salmon and scrambled eggs. and it was without a doubt bullet proof. Totally spoilt the meal. Why not experiment with different breads and make a combination that’s a joy to eat, instead of watching plates go back with uneaten sourdough. Unfortunately the waitress wasn’t particularly interested to be there but maybe that was just an off morning, or perhaps the constant loud echoey noise wears the staff down as well. 3) Bacon and Sausage.. not burnt but very very well done. Sorry to be critical but also hoping to be constructive because you clearly have the customers but you could make their experience that bit better by tweaking a few things. Noise echo is resolvable and it’s not expensive to do.

Lovely location for a Sunday breakfast. We were lucky to get a table outside to enjoy the lovely weather. Had a veggie breakfast which was delicious. Nice sourdough bread and tasty produce. Went for Sunday brunch, cant fault the food but the service is poor. Was welcome to a table which was dirty the girl said ill clean that for you then never bothered had to ask another serving girl to clean it which she did welcomingly. Ordered breakfast no asking or refernce to allergens which was poor. Watched a serving girl make a fuss of a dog that came in stroked played with then went and served food straight after!! Didnt wash her hands!!! Wasnt asked how food was? Is evrything ok? Nothing!! Then prompted to leave tip when paying. Its a shame the food was really nice but the service terrible. Can I suggest a uniform for the waiting staff as some of the clothes worn by one of the girls left nothing to the imagination not really suitable for a restuarnt

This is a regular stop for me on bike rides. Today we sat in courtyard, the outdoor seating area, in full sun. We stopped first for coffee late morning, then returned for lunch. There are very few pubs in the area that serve light bites/sandwiches. My husband enjoyed a tuna mayo baguette and I indulged in a bacon and brie baguette - the bacon was good quality and the brie soft - excellent lunch. A nice little cafe serving good food at reasonable prices.

Popped in here for a mooch around the little retail outlets and for a coffee when staying at the adjacent caravan site. Overall our experience here was satisfactory but the courtyard which has bench tables to sit and enjoy the your food was in need to some TLC. The benches were rough and peeling, and the general feeling of the courtyard was a little rundown. It wouldn’t take much to spruce it up and add a few Mediterranean plants in what is a sunny sheltered spot.

We had been motorhoming at thecampsite next door and had previously been to Dylan's for lunch on two other occasions and enjoyed the food with no issues. However, wedecided to go for breakfast with our four children on our day of departure and ordered the all day breakfasts. We had noticedpreviously that the staff look a bit miserable but put that down to them just being busy at that time. As many kids do they want tomato sauce on everything and Dylan's have opted for those little sachets which personally i hate but hey the food is decent so it's not the end of the world. Anyhow, there was only three sachets of tomato sauce on the table so we asked the waitress for some more which she obliged with an extra four. This is between six people with cooked breakfasts. Our youngest child who is nine and a little quiet wanted more sauce so we told him go up to the old waitress and ask for a few more. when he came back he was a little down and told us that the old waitress had told him that she would be charging us extra for the sauces which they did. To be so petty especially when on a six person table you only leave three tomato sauces and charge well to start with is both very disappointing and petty and spoilt our whole experience at Dylan's. When my wife and children all went to the bathroom the old waitress made a point of coming up to me to tell me verbally the amount of the bill which was bizzare. She obviously knew she was out of order and when my wife went to the counter to pay and enquired about the additional charge, the old waitress offered to cancel the extra charge straight away?? So why bother being petty in the first place. It's not the amount at all, which we still paid but THE PRINCIPLE! She then went on to blame the owner for making the charge and not her. The old waitress actually tried to say that we'd had 17 extra sauces which is riciculous lol. Needless to say although we will be re-visiting Lychett Manor caravan park again and again we won't be going in Dylan's. It was a shame as because we had been two previous times that week we intended to leave a generous tip. The old one needs putting out to grass and find a less customer-orienated job.

The problems started when we arrived. We came in and were asked to be seated and were told to find a seat. The only table for 4 available was the one we sat at and was covered in the previous clients dirty plates and hadn't been wiped. The manager (I presume) instructed one of the waitresses to clear the table, but when she did, she took away all the dirty stuff but didn't actually wipe the table. It took until we were ordering for the dirty table to be wiped as we had to actually then ask the waitress taking our order to do so. Not great at all, but in Covid and also when your cafe had only just reopened after multiple app "pings", you'd get on top of this surely. Food was nice on the whole, but not of great quality. The Ploughmans lunch was of disappointment for a couple reasons. Firstly, the bread was not crispy in the slightest, and secondly the wet salad had been placed so that it made the not crispy bread quite soggy. Service itself was unfortunately on the bleaker side of uninspiring but I understand table service is difficult and that is not really where the problems are here. Another issue is the toilets. Where the male toilet door is opened and latched open all the time, three of the four urinals can be seen in full view from the corridor which is frequently used for service. Furthermore, the disabled toilet seat in the female toilets was placed on the toilet and not attached, which is bad for any toilet, but especially bad for a disabled toilet. In my experience with restaurant inspectors, they have always said to us that the best way to get an overview of the cleanliness of a food establishment is to look in the toilets. I'm afraid that in this case, that advice couldn't have been more sound as I would've thought that attached toilet seats and table wiping would've been common procedure. The allergy notice I only noticed after ordering and so did not speak to staff about my allergies, however I presume staff will check of their own backs by the beginning of Natasha's Law introduction on the 1st of October? I would welcome management response on how they will be improving cleanliness and hygiene standards at the cafe in the future as I have not had the positive experience so many other reviewers seem to have had... Look forward to hearing a clear plan for the future regarding cleanliness and allergies

Sadly I forgot to take a photo as I was too busy enjoying it. Three choices of meat. I had beef, daughter and OH had pork. The roasts had all fresh veg, large roast potatoes and a huge amount of meat. The size of the roast Itself was enormous. With lashings of lovely thick gravy. Although there was a choice of meat there was no choice of veg. We didn’t mind this at all as we love our veg and it was all cooked to perfection. Oh and huge Yorkshire puds. Very reasonably priced. But do book. It’s very popular, but highly recommended.

There was no customers at all in the cafe/restaurant. As soon as we walked in the door a woman came over with a coffee in her hand, and said you can bring a dog in here but it has to go on the floor. We explained that he wasn’t protected by his jabs but she just shrugged and walked away. I know they have rules but she could have been apologetic and she just wasn’t interested. And there was no one at all in the cafe. Shame as we take all our family there when they visit but not anymore. This was our second visit to the restaurant and I’ve decided it’s my favorite place to go for breakfast! Tops harvester and many of the other local places and the prices are very reasonable. Good coffee too!

We have been for breakfast this morning and it was really nice. What impressed us most was how efficient the service is but not at the expense of the quality. £7 for a full English including tea, piping hot what's not to like.

Three of us enjoyed an excellent Sunday Roast at Dylans' yesterday. The servings were generous, small portions are available, and it was great quality. We followed the mains with deserts which were also excellent. We'll definitely be back!

A 5 minute walking distance from the campsite we were visiting over Christmas, with friendly service and a freshly cooked full English breakfast at a reasonable price. Recommended with thanks 😀

I meet friends here regularly for coffee and delicious bacon sandwiches- always with crispy bacon. Having had so many disappointing Sunday lunches at local pubs we decided to book for last Sunday to try their lunch. We were not disappointed- I had turkey and my husband had beef - both nice and hot and plenty of gravy. A very nice couple on next table we’re regulars for Sunday lunch so pleased to learn it was not just a one off. We will become regulars for Sunday lunch. The young male waiter was friendly and very good.

Dylan's seem to do their best but it's rather cramped and noisy - ok on a summers day when you can sit outside.

Went to Dylans from the nearby campsite for an afternoon cream tea. The scones were some of the nicest we have had and the service was friendly and helpful. Definately worth a visit.

So for years we’ve been saying that we must try Mortons. It took our gorgeous friend Rosie Thurgood starting to work here to prompt us to visit. The Sunday lunch menu is incredible. Beautifully executed food and great value. Service of course faultless.

Fab food for my sons party...at a great price. The staff couldn't do enough. Great location. There was enough food to feed hungry bellies and it was delivered hot and at the time requested. Well done!

What a gem of a place. Happy friendly staff, who couldn't do more for us. We booked a table of 7 but had an extra person turn up and it was no problem. 3 vegans and a dairy/nut allergy sufferer, but so much choice, and help from the staff to find the right food. The portion sizes were insane and the cakes were out of this world! Cannot rate highly enough, we really enjoyed it all. Can't wait to come back (if you'll have us, sorry for the chaos)!

Bloody brilliant. Food and ambience superb. Service with a smile. Superb plaice and monkfish Thai curry. The desserts are all made by the chef. We had a pavlova but look forward to coming back for the chocolate torte. Very underrated restaurant of the highest echelon.

Very pleasant setting and the service was friendly and efficient. We only wanted coffee, which, although very good, was probably the most expensive for miles around. Other items on the menu were also not cheap. We would probably look for better value elsewhere next time.
