We have visited this cafe a few times and it is consistently good food at a good price. The omelettes are thick, tasty and very filling and the breakfasts are lovely. Topped off with good hot drinks!
On this pleasant and above all dry morning, My Lady and I took our little furbaby Annie out for a few sniffs. Our route took us past The Caddy Shack, which is situated next to the Weymouth Rugby Club.
As is my want, I decided a coffee would enhance my enjoyment of the fresh air, so we stopped by. Having found a sunny pot to sit in, I ordered the required beverages - plus a bit of chocolate cake for me.
The service was friendly and efficient, without being rushed. The lady taking and making up my order was friendly. The coffee was good, and the cake very tasty. While I waited, I revelled in the aroma of toasted sandwiches and various other grilled delights.
The prices are very reasonable, and it is fair to say I have paid more for worse.
I recommend this to you....
Two builders teas after going to an exhibition
Service with a smile, friendly chat, and great tea and at a reasonable price ... what more could you want x
Great experience! The Biang Biang noodles were absolutely delicious, definitely the best noodle dishes my partner and I have tried & we’re in our 50’s so have tried a few! Will certainly be revisiting to try more of the menu!
A very enjoyable evening meal. The staff are incredibly polite, attentive and hospitable (especially Georgia!). The tapas menu is perfect for sharing plates or a lighter bite to eat whilst you choose from a large collection of different wines and other spirits. If you’re after a larger meal, then you can order from the next door sister-restaurant’s menu; a really neat touch. Strongly recommend the Sweet Calzone for dessert, it was delicious and unique!
I have to say I don’t post reviews very often but my wife, daughter and myself have just had a fantastic meal here in the restaurant at the St Moritz hotel. We come here every year and always have a great time. Last year we had a great meal in Cafe Rojano and the St Pedroc bistro in Padstow. We also had a terrific meal in the St Moritz hotel restaurant and it was definitely up there. So we are fussy about our food and like to spend a lot of money on food. The meal we just had in the restaurant in the St Moritz tonight was fab. I had a 3 course meal and each course was a delight and the whole meal was faultless. Not cheap but worth it and served by 3 wonderful young people. Highly recommended. I would put the quality as on a par with the meal we had in the St Pedroc last year and actually a more enjoyable meal overall.

We had a coffee and a tea on our visit to the Common Grounds Cafe yesterday morning. The atmosphere was very calm and pleasant. We didn’t have food on our visit, but we will be certainly returning to sample some. Very friendly and welcoming staff.
Beautiful homemade authentic Thai food. Cooked fresh in 15 minutes. We took the food home, to Dawlish still hot.
The Green veggie curry, had lots fresh vegetables. The chicken cashew nut dish, had lots of chicken. Cracker were fresh. The food wasn’t grease, I could this eat every day. We will be back.
A small shop on Fore Street (renowned for its indie businesses), which sells fine wine, excellent keeved cider & exquisite cheeses. In the evenings (think only weekends?) it becomes a bar, with cool music & delicious snacks.
Great food fun locally and ethically sourced suppliers, prepared by someone who so obviously has poured their heart and soul into a great little stop. Excellent knowledge of every aspect of the menu, ingredients and suppliers I can't recommend this place for a setup wether is for a coffee and cake or a very decent lunch.
