We had a coffee and a tea on our visit to the Common Grounds Cafe yesterday morning. The atmosphere was very calm and pleasant. We didn’t have food on our visit, but we will be certainly returning to sample some. Very friendly and welcoming staff.

Lovely place, magnificent. Not sure who is doing the 1 star review on this, seems cowardly. I'm an atheist but can appreciate how lovely this building is without getting bogged down in the whole - organised religion is ridiculous and has no place in modern society - thing.

Hidden at the back of a bin filled alley, this is a perfect spot to get some time back away from the bustle of the sea front. Super ale straight out the keg!

Roasts lovely , scallops lovely , puds lovely … the treacle tart was the best I’ve ever tasted ….please pass our thanks to the staff in kitchen that never see how much their food means to people … the staff looking after us , sorry don’t know names , we’re lovely , nothing was too much trouble …my daughter even had a glass of bubbly .. as Mummy to her border ! 😻🥰😻 x 🐶 x very kind x thank you x we will be back x Well … what can we say ? Had an outstanding Mothers Day lunch today ( last year 2024) , 3 courses with glass of Prosecco on arrival .. beautiful meal , really enjoyed it , best meal we have had in a very very long time . The service at the table was brilliant, nothing was too much trouble .. we had a little incident with our dog .. ie our fault , not dog , and drink went flying … 😬and they replaced it , much appreciated when totally our fault .. please pass on our appreciation to all members in team that made this a great day out ..especially the forgotten heroes in the kitchen … we’ll be back ! Wonderful fish and chips. Only realised why Nettles on the way home in the car. As well as a superb fish and chip shop it’s a dr who museum, great for the kids to visit and fun while waiting. We had the works last night and the food was superb. On the train back to london and telling all my friends about Cornwall fish and chips. Thanks Dr, beautiful food and chat. Great value too

Enjoyed homemade Mediterranean quiche and then afterwards we had cream tea with lattes. The hosts give top customer service. The dogs got given lots of dog biscuits shaped as bones so they were happy.
