Wonderful genuine & friendly staff. Such a relaxed and calm atmosphere and lovely ambiance. The food was simply superb; both delicious and beautifully presented. Such an enjoyable evening - we were so pleased we went. Thank you.

We have just been back to The Ship Inn with friends for dinner, we sat in the Snug, the whole evening was excellent, the food as usual was the very best, really top quality. Alli and Greg really looked after us. This has to be easily the best restaurant in Cornwall.

Well, what can I say! Cheese souffle to die for! If you get the chance, visit this wonderful family run gastropub but you need to book well in advance. We visited on 30th June and the food is fantastic, the wine great and atmosphere perfect. Thank you for having us and feeding us such wonderful food!

We ate at the Ship Inn in June 2023 whilst we were on holiday and staying in nearby Gweek. We were recommended this place and we were so glad we visited. The food is beautiful, service and staff are really friendly too. The menu price for 2-3 courses isn’t cheap, but you definitely get what you pay for, and you can tell the food is of a really high quality. I had the rump steak and it was honestly the best steak I’d ever had, beautifully cooked. Would definitely visit again. We took our dog with us, so very dog friendly place. We hadn’t booked, as we were just recommended the place earlier that day but they were able to find us a table. I would definitely recommend booking in advance to avoid disappointment though. I wouldn’t recommend the Ship Inn for families with any young kids, they don’t really cater for children, no kids menu etc. But that suited us fine.

Fabulous food and great welcome from lovely people. Only opens for part of week so check first. Always wise to book. If using Sat nav be prepared for some very narrow roads with long grass in centre as used very infrequently. Best routes either via Helston or Gweek. Well worth the effort as you will be impressed with the skills of an excellent chef.

Amazing - not your standard pub dinner experience! Excellent quality food in an amazing setting. The owner is such a lovely lady and the service she provided was phenomenal! The evening we spent here was so enjoyable, definitely worth the price. Just note that when we went (spring 2023) the restaurant was only open for a few nights a week, so make sure to call and book a table to avoid disappointment. Also, in order for them to provide such high quality food in such a quiet area they required us to take 3 courses. Please don't let that put you off though - you won't regret eating at The Ship Inn!

Another outstanding dining experience had by seven of us last night. No matter how often we go the food is always Michelin star quality with great friendly service. A true Cornish gem.

Caroline and I thank everyone at the The Ship Inn for a superb supper. It was a very chilly evening outside so the wood burner was really welcome as was the warm and friendly greeting. Everything at the Ship Inn is homemade by the excellent chef including the delicious tomato bread. The menu is a reasononably fixed price offering very good value generously portioned creative yet unpretentious Cornish food using the best of fresh local ingredients. It's all cooked and presented beautifully with some superb taste surprises that linger. Even to side vegetables were fresh and cooked to perfection with 'bite' so had real taste. Every thing is brought to the table by a very friendly and attentive family team in a warm and welcoming atmosphere. Don't tell anyone about this hidden gem, keep it a secret!

Quality shines from every direction in this Pub / Restaurant. 5 stars is the most you can give on reviews, well The Ship Inn is definitely 5 star +. I could use all the cliched superlatives and accolades, it would not do this little gem justice. Everything was perfect, this family run establishment, has honed its craft, and the result is just spectacular. The welcome, the service, the environment, the music and the main event, the food was without question the best I had experienced in too long a time. Their success is guaranteed, book early to avoid disappointment. You will not regret it.

We discovered the Ship Inn last September when on holiday, unfortunately, we were not able to eat there as they were fully booked so when we returned in June we made sure we had pre booked, we were not disappointed, fabulous food with a very warm welcome from Allison and all the family, highly recommended

Excellent food and wonderful service in a lovely setting. Very good value for money. Only one vegetarian starter and main but they were georgous so choice didn't matter. Highly recommended.

We visited this quaint pub while on holiday. We were very lucky to secure a table at such short notice! Everything about this place is excellent- the service was top notch (they were very nice and accommodating) and the food was such a joy to the palate (from start to finish!). Truly one of the best meal experiences I've had.

Visited here whilst on holiday. Absolutely lovely pub very friendly and accommodating staff. The food was amazing to. The only reason for 4 stars was despite the amazing food there wasnt much of it and had to stop at shops and get home. Might be me just being greedy. Lovely place thank you.

Had dinner here on the 16th October with our 16 month old baby and our dog. What a fantastic meal and such a friendly and accommodating welcome. We've been visiting the area for the past week and can honestly say this was the best meal to date. Highly recommended and we will be back again some day for sure. Thank you. 😊

As always the best food in the SW of Cornwall. Great service and the small but delicious menu never disappoints. Five of us for dinner and all very satisfied.

Excellent food, well presented with, unusually these days, plenty of fresh vegetables and all at a reasonable price. Owners are very welcoming. This is also a very dog-friendly pub. We had only just walked through the door and a member of staff appeared with a soft blanket for our dog to lie on! He didn't want to leave. We hadn't even asked for creature comforts! Highly recommended.

The food was amazing even the childrens meals were of excellent quality, the service was excellent the atmosphere was was warm and friendly, the setting was enchanting and i can not fault anything, a meal here is a must and when we are next in the area it will be our first stop.

Another superb meal, we are never disappointed, the quality of the food is exceptional and the staff are friendly and efficient.

My 65th birthday spent here with especially good friends to share it with. Impressive menu. Very country pub decors but pleasing atmosphere. Love the old style pull chain flush. Looked more like a dancing room to me as very spacious. I had a great time. Landlady warm and accommodating.

Maybe we expected too much after reading the other reviews and having a personal recommendation to eat here. The location is in the centre of a rather dull village and there are no interesting views. There is limited parking so access isn't always easy, we took several attempts leaving due to some idiot who had parked too close to the car park entry/exit. The decor is very dated, quirky if being kind. The service was excellent, very welcoming and friendly. We were disappointed to only see two seafood main options on the menu given that we're in Cornwall. The children's menu is very dull but maybe that's what the clientele expect. Drink choices were limited unless you were drinking wine. I wish I'd chosen a glass of wine rather than the underwhelming local beer that I had. The first courses were fine. The goats cheese starter was well received but my crab pasta was unexciting. The mains were mixed. The Pollack was decent but my plaice was overcooked and tasted like it had been frozen which presumably it wouldn't have been, curious. The sausages were enjoyed by our son. The brownie for pudding received rave reviews however. We left disappointed. Maybe the pub suits meat eaters better. The next table eating meat certainly seemed to be having a better time of it.

I got vouchers for a meal for 2 at The Ship Inn and we both ordered steak and sticky toffee pudding. This was the most delicious meal we have had in a long time! So tasty. The owner Alli and all the staff were lovely and friendly and there was a wonderful atmosphere. Will definitely be back.

Great village cozy pud With great friendly helpful staff And set in a lovely setting on the out skirts of the village the food they serve is worth a trip on it's own Would highly recommend this outstanding pud and will be back many more times in the future

A lovely pub with excellent food. Very welcoming to locals and strangers alike. Highly recommended, the only downside being a limited of parking. Not open on Sundays, Mondays or lunchtimes. Worth booking in advance if you intend to eat there as it is very popular. Well worth a visit.

Was stopping over the road from the ship inn, in B&B came over on Friday night for a quick pint, staff couldn't be more helpful. Had booked for Saturday night, very busy but had very good service from the very helpful staff food was spot on. Would recommend it to anyone good food helpful staff i would recommend booking a table as it was very busy on both nites. A very pleasant experience.

Lovely cosy pub with fab staff who welcome walkers and dogs. The food is exceptional with a separate choice of tasty bar food (and take-away fish and chips) or gastro-pub style dining. Free fast wifi if you need it.
