A good choice of food on the menu. Plus friendly service and waiting staff .

Went for a walk in Cuckfield with my wife who has terminal cancer and as she gets tired easily I took her into the garden at the Rose and Crown in Cuckfield. I went into the side bar that was completely empty apart from the bar person and ordered soft drinks for us both and a packet of crisps for my wife. The bar is taller than most other bars and I stumbled and spilled the drinks. I apologise

Went for afternoon tea with friends. Not as pricey as some others around here, but still expensive for what was offerred. The waitress introduced us to the 'tower' of comestibles. I didn't recognise the mille feuille until she said what it was, less of the mille more like two un-flakey slices . Scones seemed to have been microwaved since they went a bit hard, but the jam with them was very good. Made the mistake of asking for another pot of tea and some water which greatly added to the bill

Lovely fish and chips. Tasty and delicate fish. We collected fish and chips for a treat last evening. They made a slight error with the order and instead of replacing, they gave us another portion, which they didn’t need to do and wasn’t what we expected.. z although gratefully received. It was human error. Nicely presented. Nice staff. We really enjoyed. Thank you.

We stopped here for coffee and after placing our order we waited ages for it to arrive. 5 minutes after our order arrived we were then told that they were closing in 10 minutes. Not impressed was an understatement. Steer clear of this place if this is the service that is expected.
