The best restaurants in Sandown South Isle of Wight South East

An unexpectedly excellent lunch, for a really good price. Huge choice on the menu including usual cafe grill items, home made pies and great plate-sized Yorkshire puddings with almost any filling!

I don’t know if this is normal for a 2 star hotel, but this hotel isn’t very nice. The decor is brown everything, and hasn’t been updated since the 50s. Stains on floor, wall paper peeling off. There is no service whatsoever. No one ever on reception. We were there 5 days and no one came in to our room to clean or replenish. I had to buy new toilet roll when our one roll ran out, bin bags for the bin, and find a skip for the full bin. Positives are that it is genuinely a 2 minute walk from the beach, breakfast is fine and it’s as quiet as other guests make it.

Food was sub standard, the chicken in Black bean sauce tasted like they had never tried black bean sauce and had just had it described to them 3rd hand by someone that had seen a picture of it! I can only assume the people that gave this place 5 star reviews are either the owners or friends of their family or so drunk they didn't realise how bad the food actually is!! I would advise my worst enemies to eat elsewhere!!!

Clean, friendly and quick restaurant. 5 star. Best kfc on the isle of wight and only place my kids will get their chicken fix
